Swim doesn't know, he's never done any injections, but he very strongly advises you call an emergency doctor or some other immediate medical help.

Re: EMERGENCY!!! - arm problems

SWIM thinks SWIY might have missed the vein with some of it. Even when one is "in" it's fairly easy to slip back out or poke through the other side. Histamine release will cause localized redness. Is SWIY 100% sure they didn't miss with any?

If it doesn't go away in a day or two(which SWIM suspects it will) or if SWIY starts feeling sick/feverish they should probably talk to their doc or be seen at a walk-in clinic. If SWIY starts feeling really bad go to the ED--although it probably won't come to that. If it does though, don't hesitate.

SWIM's not an H user and never has been, so she can't intelligently speak as to leaving some of the syringe for later; however, she would imagine doing so would give whatever bacteria, if any, that were present time to multiply and cause issues when injected. It's not like we're talking about a substance sterilized under controlled conditions with no potential exposures to pathogens.

In the meantime. A bit of Benedryl/diphenhydramine might help the redness/spots. Is it itchy at all?

SWIY missed the shot. It's normal for a circular area (the size of a golf ball or maybe a tennis ball) to appear around the injection site. It looks like a rash, and there might be swelling. Missing a shot isn't fun, but it's par for the course if one is just starting out injecting. SWIM has missed plenty of shots, especially when he was first starting to learn how to inject. And the first time SWIM missed, he freaked out because of the rash and general redness of his arm. Now, though missed shots are rare, when they do occasionally happen, SWIM doesn't even bat an eyelash. Within 30 to 45 minutes, the rash is gone. All is well except that there was no rush from the shot.

- people there say going numb is a sign of hitting a nerve or something. But swim agrees with Logic that you should get help..

Re: EMERGENCY!!! - arm problems

Swiy probably did just miss. Swim would immagine that the H could "un"-dissolve much the way that sugar falls to the bottom of a glass of water after a little bit. Just shaking the syringe a bit should help this.. Unless ofcoarse the H is the kind swiy would cook In which case swiy need to do it asap right after mixing

Heroin is not stable in most solutions. It will degrade to other things, so users should not leave the heroin in the syringe (especially if its bloody...). That is probably not the explanation for your rash, but it is something users should know anyways.
