question about Kratom with Methadone

My fish has been swimming to the methadone clinic for a few months now to consume his 105 mg dosage of methadone. He has had a bit of a problem of experiencing some craving later in the day and in the evening since he can only dose up to 12:30 when the clinic closes. My question is if I should order him some Kratom extract to dose later in the day to rejuve his methadone dosage when those cravings start. Does kratom increase the effects of methadone? Does it work well? Does the Methadone block the Kratom? What brand of Kratom should I pick up for him and what dosage should I drop in his fishbowl when he starts asking me about dope?

Thank you in advance for helping out. Also, he doesn't need any advice on his choice to substitute with the methadone, so any responses informing him that he is only substituting one dope for another can be left in the ocean.

to be honest swim didnt find kratom very usefull in helping with withdrawell,swim used uei (the strongest type) and dosed 4 grams (the usual dose is 1 gram) and didnt feel any different

Kratom will do nothing for a full blown methadone addict. It might be wise to use some AFTER your fish quits, when he is trying to deal with the last bit of methadone w/d. Until then, don't waste the money.

Yes, Kratom will do nothing for 'craving' or 'rejuvenation' while ON methadone. The purpose of methadone maintenance is to keep a person stable and not have cravings for additional opiates. SWIM recommends that one should stay at the lowest dose that keeps one stable. But, if SWIY is not holding at 105mgs, then going up another 10-20mgs may help. A high dose of methadone does not necessarily mean it will be harder to titrate from when the time comes.

A higher dose might help, but if someone is a fast metabolizer a higher
dose would kick in harder a few hours after taking, but won't help with
the craving that will creep in 16 - 20 hours later.

It might not be SWIM's wisest recommendation, but maybe the fish could
find some substance that will slow down the methadone metabolizing pro-
cess.
Phenobarbital and alcohole will cause a faster metabolization of Methadone.
Maybe 75 - 100 µg of Clonidine in the morning will help the fish, but this
should be discussed with someone who knows the fish.

Good advice about the metabolism. SWIY could also try taking the OTC heart burn medication, Tagamet (Cimetidine) or the Rx nausea medication, Phenergan (Promethazine). SWIM knows that these two meds enhance the methadone. But, SWIM does not know how these meds may effect ones metabolic rate.

If the dose is not holding through the day then get the clinic to check how your fish metabolizes the meth and usually they will split your dose and that should do the trick. If it's not that then you just need to raise your dose a little bit. Good luck.

Thank you for the responses. My fish and I believe that he is one of these "fast metabolizers" which is very unfortunate. Splitting the dose would be nice if the clinic wasnt all the way accross the lake.

"A high dose of methadone does not necessarily mean it will be harder to titrate from when the time comes." That is comforting insight... we were becomming worried by his inability to stabalize at a lower dosage.

Any further advice on how to drastically slow the metabolization of the methadone is greatly appreciated. I guess that may require a new thread.
