salvia habitats in aus

joe has been so eager to try salvia and has done a bit of searching as he wishes to locate and nurture a salvia plant to use. he was wondering if swiys from aus have had any luck locating 'wild' salvia growing and the type of habitat it was in. joe is very much hoping there is someone out there with info on habitats and plants salvia may grow along side. it may not even be able to grow in aus in the wild but in joes opinion it was worth a ask.
