TEK - Really weird CWE...

SWIM has been doing CWE's for months now. With the pills SWIM uses for CWE he always gets a cloudy solution...after reading Robo's post he tried the first extraction through Kleenex, and that time he gets an almost clear solution. SWIM thought he saw wrong at first, he was so surprised.
What happened? SWIM always used Coffee filters, and always filtered twice. Once room tempereture, Second time with a cooled down solution...only once after 2 days of cooling the mixture did he get an almost clear, but not as clear as what he got using 2 layers of Kleenex.

Anyone has an explanation?

Cloudiness normally has to do with the binders in the pills and not the APAP, Swim is not sure why using Kleenex helps but SWIM might try it.

This is a common explanation for cloudiness which doesn't make any sense.If the binders and fillers were insoluble in water, they'd be left in the filter and if they were soluble in water, then, even though they'd be in the final solution, you shouldn't be able to see them because they're dissolved.

Swim also gets a clear solution after filtering through Kleenex, although he filters again through a lab filter just in case.If you usually get a cloudy solution after filtering with your coffee filters then they're probably not the best ones to use.

No they're the round ones...Swim filtered through 2 layers of Kleenex when the solution was room temp and got an almost clear solution, then Swim chilled the solution and almost nothing precipitated so he didn't bother filtering the solution again. Swim is just gonna filter using plain old Kleenex from now on... It's more effecient anyway! Swim would of never found out without your guide though, thanks a whole lot!
