I have recently discovered kratom, and while the first time I tried it
I was able to stomach it (I later threw up after the first 2 hours) the few times I have tried it since I am barely able to drink the tea and end up throwing up shortly after consuming it or while in the process of consuming it...this of course causes the effects to be less than what I am expecting and certainly not what I desire. What I want to know is it possible to say boil the tea and then take it and place it in a pyrex dish or something similar and cook it in an oven and produce a more consumable resin or possibly yield a powder like substance? Or would this process cause the active chems to be destroyed (I read a report somewhere saying that while the active chems are released when boiling, over boiling or over heating can actually destroy them)? Basically I am searching for alternate ways to get the great effects without having to gulp down that horrible brew (and yes I have tried mixing it with things, like sugar and honey, and even flavored coffee mix...nothing masks it, I have a weak stomach). Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. |

TRADITIONAL PREPARATION: There is no recorded shamanistic useof this plant.Nearly all <B style="COLOR: black; : #ffff66">kratom[/B] users chew fresh leaves. New users usually consume as few as 3 leaves, where experienced users may consume around 20 leaves, sometimes 2-3 times a day. When preparing fresh leaf, the vein is extracted and sometimes salt is then added to prevent constipation. Consumption of the leaf is usually followed by drinking something hot, such as warm water or coffee. Leaves can also be smoked, made into a tea, or a crude <B style="COLOR: black; : #a0ffff">resin[/B] extraction can be made. This <B style="COLOR: black; : #a0ffff">resin[/B] extract is made by preparing a water extract of the leaves, boilingthem down to a thick tar-like consistency, and then shaping it into small <B style="COLOR: black; : #99ff99">balls[/B] which are rolled in a material such as flour. They can be stored for several weeks until use, and thisis apparently a quite popular method of consumption. 20 leaves contains about 17mg of mitragynine, the average "dose" for an experienced user. Heres some tips from experience... A resin can be made by making the tea, then boiling down into a paste. Scrape this paste from your pot and collect in chunks. Allow these resin balls to dry until they can be swallowed. The effects are generally more mild, longer acting, and take longer to be noticed. Smoking this might work, but tobacco or another smoking base would probably be needed, as the resin does not support a flame.
I prefer the tea, but I only buy premium leaf, as it is more effective in smaller doses. Regular leaf requires much more leaf, and results in nausea more often. If you still can't stand the taste of premium leaf, then I would recommend mixing the tea with sweet tea. I found that this masks the taste PERFECTLY! The tea is my favorite method because it gives quick effects and it is a stronger buzz. The downside is that the buzz will last usually 2 hours at the most. Many who are new to kratom will feel the effects longer. The resin does work though, as I have given it to people comming off opiates. They seem to respond well to the resin, and it calms they're cravings quite significantly. |

I think I am gonna try this and I will post my results with it, but i
am gonna try and make kratom jello. I am hoping that with the jello I can just swallow the chunks and not have to worry about the taste. |
