Drug info - Roxicet vs. Oxycontin

SWIM has been falling in love with Roxis lately and never tried oxys.

Roxis around this kid's area are very expensive and sometimes hard to find.

The kid said he could get Oxys and was wondering how the two drugs compared to one another.




Also, completely unrelated, what exactly causes "the itch?"

Are they Roxicet or Roxicodone? Roxicet is oxycodone with acetaminophen(tylenol, APAP). Roxicodone is an immediate release form of just oxycodone(plus binders/fillers). Roxicodone would be highly preferable over Roxicet. Oxycontin is like Roxicodone in that it contains just oxycodone(plus binders/fillers) but in an extended release form. The two are similar, one just hits faster and shorter and the other hits slower but lasts a bit longer in SWIM's opinion. He would rather have the Roxicodone.

Also, SWIM has read that the itching is caused by the opiates binding to the receptors and addition to relieving pain cause itching as a side effect. Taking an anti-histamine along with SWIYs opiate dose should relieve some of the itching.

SWIM prefers roxi to oxycontin due to it being a sharper rise to highdom. contin however lasts a lot longer due to it being extended release. The extra ten milligrams is often hard to turn down as roxi in SWIM's area are always 30mg's and oxycontins are either 40 or 80mgs.

not to mention the brand name (perdue) recognition and the appearance

OC on one side and the mg on the other, people tend to prefer this than a pill manufactured by mallinckrodt or ethex simply because they're dumb kids that don't know how to research 'things' or just don't care/like to learn

They're both the same thing only Roxicet has oxycodone with tylenol & Oxycontin is pure oxycodone

Some people also like to complain that certain manufacturer's drugs don't work (don't get them high).

If the pills didn't work then they wouldn't be approved! It has the same active ingredient as any other maker.

In general in SWIM's area the 30mg's that are typically around either say M 30 or ETH 445 on them. The M30's are blue and the ETH's are white, SWIM will take either and be happy, other folks will only take the M30's and their reason is that when they grind and snort, it tastes 100x worse when they are ETH. SWIM does not bump anything so he has no input on the taste one way or the other.

i've always found that 4 percocets (20mg oxycodone) was more powerful than a 20mg oxycontin.

APAP=bad. stay away from it. if you're poppin roxiCET, switch to oxycontin to stay healthy(er). But if they're both strait oxycodone, it's all a matter of preferance. the difference is acute, and only noticed to the experienced.

SWIM has never found that adding percocets to get proper numbers is as good as popping a larger sized drug, ie. to SWIM, 2 5/325's is not equal to 1 10/325 and to him one 30mg rocky, no apap is much better than 3 10mg percocet.

just SWIM's opinion though.

Also, oxycontin is extended release as opposed to instant release meaning that when you take it, it spreads out the dosage over a longer period of time and so you stay higher longer though the feeling never gets very intense, SWIY should take 2 of them and would probably get the feeling desired and it would last for a longer period. Also as mentioned above stay away from taking too much tylenol/apap as it destroys your liver. SWIM has actually stopped drinking alcohol at all due to its effect on the liver he doesn't want to compound that with any intake of tylenol/apap.
