Setting - Taking Mushrooms Alone the First Time?

I have a quarter of cubes, and I've been looking forward to tripping a half eighth for a long time now, and the friend I was originally going to do them with keeps flaking out on me. So what if I just did them on my own? Last night I ate about a half teaspoon of the powder and crumbs, and got a very vague idea of what it might be like, I could certainly tell the magnified emotions.

Should I do it or just wait?

SWIM would not really agree on going solo as the first trip. SWIY should have a sitter. But it's just SWIMs opinion.

A sixteenth is only about 1.75 grams; this would not produce a particularly powerful trip but would be an experience to remember.

There is a risk of it turning bad but at such a low dose my tree considers this to be unlikely. As always, a sitter is highly recommended, but may not be entirely necessary. If SWIY has a correct set & setting, he should take 1.2g first and then the rest if he feels comfortable enough once the come up has become obvious.

My leprechaun would rather let SWIY go ahead and make up his own mind than be responsible for SWIY having a bad trip. In either case, the wee fella's advise is that if SWIY does have a bad trip he can always turn a bad trip into a good one, its easy, its just a bit of a mind trick. If SWIY has a bad trip it's just because SWIY is experiencing a new sensation and sometimes that can be scarey. Does SWIY remember the first time he tried to ride a bike without training wheels? SWIY was scared at first wasn't he? But then SWIY realised that he could do it and he loved it so much that he didn't want to stop! So he should just put himself in the right frame of mind and tell himself he is going to love it, and then Weeeeeeeeee!

chimp shouldnt do them alone for his first time. Chimp will see stuff and might think it will be real and start freaking out. Chimp should do it with another chimp that has done it before, its better to do it with another chimp because if you both are on the same dose, or if the other person is higher. You can each see how each other reacts and try and keep yourself in control.

^^Swim is only taking a half eighth though, that probably wont cause any hallucinations, from what he has read.

He may just go ahead and do it. He is excited, undeniably a bit nervous, but mostly excited!

It is unlikely that SWIY will experience any true 'hallucinations' i.e. seeing things that aren't there. My leprechaun would better describe shrooms as an 'illusionary drug' in that SWIY will perceive things in a different way i.e. seeing things as bigger or smaller, out of perspective, or a different colour. But for the wee fella, the most profound effects of shrooms are to be found in the 'mind trip' that is the thoughts and feelings they conjure up. Sometimes this feeling can be a bit overwhelming for newbies and there is always that feeling of 'have I gone too far'. But if SWIY has considered the advice of others concerning dosage, and it sounds like he has, then he shouldn't have too much to worry about. The wee fella wouldn't encourage SWIY to do it alone, but if he does tell him not to do too much this time and that there will be more opportunities to experiment in the future, and if he doesn't feel well at any point he can always come and chat to the peeps on here.

In either case, keep us posted on SWIY's endevours.

He will probably eat them little by little, and if he feels he can go on, he will. Swim has a quarter on hand, so that leaves more chances with friends later on!

When Swim is tripping, will it be difficult for him to tell himself that it'll be ok? Or is that sort of impaired?

SWIY should be perfectly fine unless SWIY isn't that mentally strong.. I mean someone with a severe mood disorder.. Such as my cat.. Even with low doses of LSD he couldn't really handle the thought processes he was going through.

And, SWIY can't edit SWIY's posts because he is a newbie.

No it won't be difficult, but the wee fella would still advise SWIY to wait until he can do it with someone he can trust or better still someone with experience.

Well, Swim is tripping the half eighth alone as we speak, and he was having a pretty difficult time, but now he is happier! It probably would be great with another person, but for now, it's probably fine. He is fighting through this!!!!!!

Following morning, and SWIM does not regret anything. He had a great experience, and was almost moved to tears at one point, that is tears of happiness. He understood how easy it is to go from gloriously happy to depressed. But he made it, and loved it! Man, the mirror was crazy? As was the iSight camera on SWIM's laptop, you know, with certain effects!

Next time will be with other people, hopefully.
