Oral use - Mushroom Tea vs. Eating Mushrooms

Swim has never tried mushroom tea, but in the past he has (from a position of ignorance, lack of personal experience, and only based on advise he was given) advised people who don't like the thought of eating the shrooms to not be such pussys and eat it rather than make tea, because it lowers the potency. Swim would like to hear from people who have tried it both ways to find out what the truth of this is. Does all of the psilocyben get dissolved properly and does any of it get destroyed in the process. Also, are there other alkaloids in the shrooms which don't get dissolved and which affect the quality of the trip?
