Smoking - Calamus Root Extract Smoking Results

SWIM recently reduced approximately 23 g Calamus Root Powder to 5 grams extracted resin. Due to the evaporation pan placement, SWIM was able to collect the resin mostly in a waxy form which is still drying, and also in a more powdery form, which settles and seems to be cohesive. Both are moderately sticky.

SWIM vaporized three small pocket knife tip servings of the powdery extract using tin foil and a small piece of steel pipe. The smoke was moderately aromatic and sweet. It was very unabrasive on the throat and lungs. In fact SWIM reports enjoying it quite a bit.

SWIM did not expect much, and nothing outrageous happened, however SWIM was surprised with the psychoactivity of the compound. The results were an amphetamine-like sensation which made SWIM pace quickly and efficiently to perform tasks. He also felt stimulated to do things on a whim but with strong motivation.

The CNS stim aspects were in some ways like caffeine, yet no jitteryness, flushing, headache, durietic symptoms, etc were experienced.

SWIM had a general sense of well-being with moderate euphoria (on top of an already good state of mind), great relaxation combined with mental alertness and a strong ability to focus.

SWIM should think this method of extraction and vaporization is a good dream for any SWIMMER interested. Beware however, that some people report parts of the calamus plant to be carcinigenic. I am unaware of the danger of this concerning the root bark extract.

I apologize for the lack of supporting details in this report, however SWIM have found Calamus to be one of those debatable entheogens that some people have luck with, some do not. Some may say Calamus' effects are even placebo, however I would not stray that far into cynicism.

SWIM is 19 years of age, 6' tall, slender, 140 lbs. Male, and Caucasian.

Onset was almost immediate, although SWIM describes himself as the type of person who feels latent "shadow" effects immediately after using most substances. For example, when SWIM ingests a pill he is only slightly familiar with, he gets tingles all over his body that seem like a mini-rush.

Total (Calamus) experience time lasted about 30 minutes, but keep in mind that SWIM used the Calamus extract shortly after a phatty bowl of marijuana.

No comedown noticed whatsoever, and the post-effects were just that of a nice, toasty stone with an increased ability to think critically and perform intricate tasks, such as playing a guitar well.

Did your friend weigh their calamus or just take an amount?
Would they have any idea how much they ingested?

Thanks for sharing this ! Would SWIY say it is enough to put 20 g crushed root together with 150 ml of a polar solvent in a vascular for 3 days, after that let it evaporate or is more preperation of the root recommended ?
