Post Male Priapism and Opiate withdrawals.

Ok, just to make this clear “This isn’t” a condition that swim is personally suffering from.
However ~ While searching for some info to ease his withdrawal symptoms (I no, he should have asked here) Swim came across a list of withdrawal symptoms that contained this snippet of information.

~ The withdrawal syndrome from heroin (or any other short-acting opioid)can begin within 6 hours of discontinuation of sustained use of the drug;sweating, malaise, anxiety, depression, persistent and intense penile erection in males (priapism) ~

Admittedly neither swim nor myself were aware of this ailment, hence the poll and thread.
Personally I think this is a little dubious, but maybe it’s more common than we think. Men are clearly going to be embarrassed by this and aren’t going to go round advertising it are they?

~ Priapism: is a potentially harmful and painful medical condition in which the erect penis does not return to its flaccid state, despite the absence of both physical and psychological stimulation, within four hours. Priapism is considered a medical emergency , which should receive proper treatment by a qualified medical practitioner.
The name comes from the Greek god Priapus, referring to the myth that he was punished by the other gods for attempting to rape a goddess, by being given a huge, but useless, set of wooden genitals.

For all you girls laughing at the back, the female equivalent is called Clitorism, but it isn’t associated with Opiate withdrawals.

This is Suposed to be a serious thread; its purpose is to see just how common Priapism really is, so please if you do vote be truthful. The poll is anonymous and I’m sure the mods wont spill the beans. Thanks for your time. Q
