Fourteen (new tips added) ways to make poppy tea more potent

-SWIM was told this information and instructed to post it by an antarctic Penguin.
-Doing EVEN ONE of these tips may boost the potency to uncomfortable and dangerous levels. Poppy tea CAN and WILL KILL YOU if you do not use it with caution. It is recommended to take small doses over a long period of time untill you reach your desired level. Watch for any sign of shallow breathing and call 911 if you exhibit this symptom. Just tell them you accidentally took an extra Percocet as an excuse, they won't give a damn. Besides, whats better: A little embarassment at the ER, or death? Do not drive, use machinery, or engage in any risky or harmful activity while using poppy tea. Period. Opiates like poppy pod tea are addictive and you should monitor yourself for any signs of addiction. Ignore this message at your own peril.

For quite some time, SWIM was using some form of opiates to help with various health conditions. Eventually, this progressed to the use of poppy pod tea. Over the years SWIM has read about and experimented on crafting the highest potency poppy pod tea to get the most out of it for his money. He has also tried very hard in discerning when and how to take the poppy tea for maximum effect. Estimated potentiation percentages are derived from carefully documenting level of euphoria and pain reduction SWIM experienced as compared to the use of poppy pod tea without anything being added or done. Swim rated his levels of euphoria and pain reduction on a scale of 1-10 every 10 minutes for 2 hours. Actual "boost" WILL ALWAYS VARY with a different persons (your) body weight, composition, tolerance, and chemistry unique to you. I do NOT recommend combining tips. IT IS DOWNRIGHT DANGEROUS. It can potentiate to dangerous levels or even cancel one another out (caffeine and benzodiazepine for instance). It will also severely increase the chance of side effects, overdose, and death. Pick one at a time. Here are the fruits of SWIM's research:

-Off topic tip that will not potentiate poppy tea, (not much anyway), but SWIM feels this is the best technique to mask the taste of poppy tea. You aren't going to feel anything if you can't keep the damn stuff down. Mix 1/2 poppy tea with 1/2 orange juice. The bitter taste is masked well and will hide it considerably better than anything else, even an energy drink. If the slight bitter taste or smell still gets to you, plug your nose and drink your tea while thinking about really fresh oranges dripping with sun-shiney goodness. This helps more than you think. It does potentiate slightly because of the citric acid and the vitamin C.

Estimated boost: Helps to cover taste. Dilutes solution if taken in large quantitys so it is more difficult for your body to absorb it all quickly. Potentiation: less than 10%.

#1: While crafting your poppy tea, add 2-5 healthy squirts of lemon juice. The acids in the lemon juice make the alkaloids (goodies) in poppy tea extract better. This has also been noted to make it taste better. You may also use half of a 500mg vitamin C tablet. Vitamin C is an acid and will also help create optimum conditions to extract the alkaloids.

Estimated boost: Sometimes acid makes the morphine in poppy tea more "complex", which causes the morphine to bind more readily to opate receptors and gives you more pain reduction and euphoria. Also extracts more "goodies". Potentiation: 20-60%

#2. While crafting your poppy tea, add about 1/4 part mountain dew per part of poppy tea. I do not know exactly what it is about mountain dew that makes it different from other semi-energy drinks like vault, but it seems to boost the potency of poppy tea unlike any other soda. Swim thought it might work with other sodas and tried many, but apparently it only works with mountain dew (and amped). I have a running theory that it is because of the ingredient Erythorbic acid. It is used for taste and as a preservative. I also believe the coloring agent, caffeine, and various other ingredients help out a bit in potentiation.

Estimated boost: Possible extraction benefits and a surprising potentiation of: 40-60%.

#3: Before crafting your poppy tea, consume a glass of grapefruit juice. Do this an hour before consumption of your tea. The hour allows the chemicals in grapefruit juice to start working in your system. Grapefruit juice contains various chemicals that will slow your bodys ability to remove the opiates in poppy pod tea from your bloodstream after consumption. These chemicals are (but not limited to): Paradisin A, B, and C.

Estimated boost: Varies from person to person depending on the unique chemistry of the individual (you). Makes euphoria and pain reduction timespan last longer and seems more pronounced. Potentiation: 10-50%

REVISION: When SWIM was writing this, he did not have enough time to test this as thoroughly as the other methods. He tested this four times using grapefruit juice and four times without (control). Two of the times SWIM consumed the grapefruit juice separately an hour before he consumed the tea. The other two times he used grapefruit juice as an extraction enhancer the same way as tip #1. When he used it as an additive he also used the grapefruit juice to mask the taste. The two times he used it as an additive and to mask the taste potentiation rocketed off the charts as compared to drinking GFJ an hour beforehand. SWIM is further testing to confirm this method. Based on his data, SWIM would now place the potentiation at 40-120%.

#4. Take your poppy tea with Benadryl. Benadryl is a common OTC antihistamine. Bendadryl has been shown to potentiate and compound the "feeling" you get after opiate consumption. Be careful when mixing opiates with other medicines. When using both of these together your threshhold for overdose is lowered. This means you can overdose much easier, stopping your breathing. This tips level of danger and potentiation pales in comparison with tip # 5, however.

Estimated boost: Sometimes changes euphoria to a more pleasent kind. Reduces opiate itch, (some people love it, others hate it). Induces nodding. Potentiation (when no tolerance to Benadryl is present): 20-35%

#5. Take your poppy tea with a SMALL AMMOUNT of a benzodiazepine such as: Vailum, Xanax, Librium, etc. If you do not know if a medication is a benzodiazepine, research it first. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING TO DO. TAKE VERY SMALL AMMOUNTS OF POPPY TEA AND THE BENZODIAZEPINE OR YOU CAN OVERDOSE AND DIE. Overdose on an opiate is NOT PLEASENT. SWIM unintentionally did this to discover it. When he did, he experienced a greater rush than at any other time while using opiates. His pain reduction and euphoric feeling tripled. All worries evaporated into thin air. He also came dangerously close to an overdose. Sleeping medicine such as: Ambien and Lunesta are known to have a similar potentiation when compared to benzodiazepines but you will fall asleep. Another medicine that creates a strong heroin-like high when taken with poppy tea is the muscle relaxant called SOMA. Once again, other drugs and especially SOMA can kill you if you mix it with poppy tea. Easily. Use caution when trying this and do so at your OWN RISK. If you do these (without tolerance to the benzodiazepine or other medications listed), this will DOUBLE or even TRIPLE the strength and feeling of poppy tea guaranteed. Don't plan on doing anything if you do this. You won't be capable of it.

Estimated boost: Induces nodding. Changes euphoric feeling to an even greater euphoria. Sometimes produces a body high where the entire body feels euphoric, (It is a hard sensation to describe. Similar to being tickled all over but better feeling and not annoying). Induces SEVERE respiratory depression. Relaxes all muscles. Debilitating. Dangerous. Potentiation: 100-200% or more. Yes, that estimate is no joke.

#6. From what SWIM has heard, alchohol acts in a similar manner to a benzodiazepine with regards to potentialization of poppy tea. Swim has never consumed alchohol so he would not know. AS WITH TIP 4 AND 5, BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS. THIS CAN ALSO KILL IF YOU USE TOO MUCH IN CONJUNCTION WITH POPPY TEA OR ANY OTHER OPIATE. There is a reason why your opiate prescriptions tell you not to drink alchohol or take benzodiazepines with it. The reason being lots of people died using too much of either together.

Estimated boost: Dangerous. Induces SEVERE respiratory depression. Induces nodding. Potentiation: Unknown to SWIM.

#7. Marijuana. This is dangerous. Swim has not done this either. Swim hates this particular drug.

Estimated boost: Dangerous. Changes perception of time and tricks mind into believing time lasted longer, and therefore the euphoria and pain reduction seems to last longer. Compounds pain reduction to the point where (apparently) you will feel nothing including even tactile (touch) senses. Causes SEVERE respiratory depression. Reduces nausea sometimes caused by opiates. Potentiation: Unknown to SWIM but supposedly a very high percentage boost.

#8. Exercise vigorously before consuming poppy tea. Your body will be in need of water and will digest the poppy tea much quicker than otherwise. Only drink 20 minutes after exercising so you don't throw it all back up. Sit while drinking it so you do not fall down from exercise dizzyness. This will produce a scenario where the poppy tea will hit you all at once and hard. Exercise speeds up metabolism and less poppy tea will be excreted as waste. This tip can make you sick, and SWIM would suggest drinking the tea in rapid sips to avoid becoming nauseated after exercise. Use of MYLANTA if you feel nauseated. (Mylanta works 2x better than pepto bismuth. Mylanta is the best OTC anti-nausea SWIM can find for opiates. It can soothe stomach pain and nausea caused by poppy tea. Pepto bismuth actually contains an ingredient that can upset your stomach even further.)

Estimated boost: An all-at-once rush. Dangerous due to dizzyness that can be caused. Constipation worsens slightly. Potentiation: 30-60%.

#9. Consume Poppy Tea on an empty stomach. It can also be combined with tip #8 for maximum absorption of poppy tea.

Estimated boost: Gives heightened rush. Constipation worsens. Euphoria and pain reduction timespan is much shorter. Potentiation: 40-70%

#10. Same concept as tip 9, but slightly different. Works well when combined with tip # 8. This is one of the few tips I would recommend POSSIBLY combining with tip #9. Be careful if you do so however. Depribe yourself of liquids for a few hours before you drink your tea. This serves two purposes. It is much easier to drink it down when you are thirsty and your body will be in need of hydration. It takes the water straight into your bloodstream and carrys the opiates along for the ride.

Estimated boost: Gives heightened rush. Constipation and chance of dehydration. Potentiation: 25-50%.

#11. Immediately after you consume your tea, eat something high in fat content. Eat only a small portion. The alkaloids (goodies) in poppy tea absorb well in fat, and the fat will carry the alkaloids into your bloodstream. Some type of candy bar works well. SWIM uses 1/3 to 1/2 of a snickers bar.

Estimated boost: Makes timespan of pain reduction and euphoria last longer without compromising level of euphoria. Potentiation: 25-40%

#12. Use an energy drink to mask the taste of the tea. This serves more than one purpose. The large ammt. of sugar used to mask the bitter taste of caffeine will mask the bitter taste of poppy tea in equal measure. The caffeine and various other additives will also make poppy tea much more potent to the consumer. Some energy drinks contain different additives. Experiment and find which you like best for taste and also for potentiation.

Estimated boost: Varies widely. Helps to keep you breathing more often and lowers chance of overdose. May take away the "nodding", but euphoria will be heightened. Keeps the consumer of poppy tea more alert to surroundings and the euphoria. Potentiation: 30-90%.

#13. Do not do this next tip while actually consuming your tea. It will slow down your digestion and therefore compromise euphoria. This is the only other tip I would consider mixing with any of the other tips. Make sure you don't fall asleep and waste your euphoria dreaming. You can not monitor your breathing either that way. I re-discovered this as I was looking through documents of ancient chinese opium-dens. The owner of the den would always have his patrons lie down on a slight incline. After you have consumed your tea, wait 15 minutes and find somewhere calm, pleasent, and devoid of distractions to lie down ON AN INCLINE. This technique seems to make the user feel the opiates more. It also forces the user to focus on the opiate feeling of euphoria. Relaxing classical music played at a low level adds to the ambience. Just sit there and absorb the feeling. Try to draw it out for as long as possible. Another thing one should try: Wait 10 minutes in the reclining position with eyes closed. At the end of the 10 minutes, quickly stand up and open your eyes. This produces a miniature rush. Rinse and repeat. I know that this sounds silly, but do not underestimate the power of this tip. SWIM has spent many of his best euphoric and pain free moments doing this. Swim looks forward to it every friday.

Estimated boost: Induces nodding. Relaxes tightened muscles from opiates and from stress. Sometimes causes a full or partial body high. Sometimes causes a good feeling on your eardrums while listening to music, (hard to explain this). Makes one focus on euphoria. A great technique to calm down after something stressful or a long days hard work. Potentiation: A surprising 50-100%. Varies widely depending on surroundings and music.

#14. This is one of the most powerful tips (aside from tip #5), and will actually increase the morphine yield derived from the poppy pods. It is relatively simple, but takes about 4 hours to complete. Credit for this tip goes to SWIM's good friend, Samuraigecko. Samuraigecko is incredibly knowledgeable about all things opiate, and SWIM views him as an intelligent person all-around. So, back to the tip: As stated before, it will take some time, but it is very simple and swim will put it into simple to follow steps.

Make your tea and strain it as you usually do. Instead of consuming it at this point, however, find a large glass baking dish. The larger this baking dish, the more surface area and the easier it will be for the water to burn off. SWIM will explain why glass is preferred later. Pour the strained poppy tea into this dish. Set your oven at 165 degrees farenheit. 165 degrees F is preferred because morphine is destroyed at ABOUT 176 degrees F. Setting your oven for 165 degrees instead of a lower temperature is good because it will help the process move along faster. If you have extra time you can set your oven at a lower temperature. SWIM's oven's lowest setting is 170 degrees, and SWIM has made cooked opium at this temperature without any problems. Put the glass dish into the oven and let the water evaporate. It will take about 3 hours. Keep an eye on it and remove the glass dish when all the water has been evaporated.

Now, take the dish out and let it cool for 5 minutes. The glass dish will make it twice as easy to see the opium you have now produced compared to a metal pan, which should be deposited in the bottom and sides of the glass dish. The glass will also make it easier to scrape off. Find a spatula or other object, and scrape all the opium from the glass dish. Be careful though, because the opium sometimes turns to dust and it can flick up and out of the glass dish.

At this stage you can do 3 things: 1. Stuff the opium into a capsule and pop it. 2. Smoke it. or 3. Dissolve it into a SMALL AMMT. of water. Use just enough water so that it dissolves. Hot water helps it to dissolve faster. Because there is less water for your body to process than the "standard" poppy tea, it will hit you faster. Four of SWIM's poppy pods produce a marble sized quantity of opium. The end result is this: The cooking process made the tea into opium, and it is several times more potent than "standard" tea.

Estimated boost: Processes tea into opium, a much purer opiate than poppy tea. Produces a "cleaner" high, meaning (for me, anyways), that it feels more like pure morphine or pain medicine, and less like poppy tea. Opium is compact and very easy to carry. Can be stored for weeks before degredation occurs. Can put in a capsule (pill form), smoked, or mixed into water or any other drink. DANGEROUS: Consume small ammts. The opium is much more powerful than "standard" poppy tea. Potentiation: 75-150% more effective than normal poppy tea.

#15. This is just a tip to draw out the opiate feeling: When you feel the poppy tea wear off, eat something, but not a large ammt. Eating starts up your stomachs process of digestion, and it will pull all the unused poppy tea in your stomach into your intestines, and from there into your bloodstream.

#16. Fill in the blank. What have you found that makes poppy tea more potent? I would love to know! If SWIM tests it and it seems to work, he will add it to his list here if you let me.

Once more, I will reitterate that doing these things without wisdom, prudence, and GOOD self control will be your early grave. Hundreds of thousands, if not MILLIONS have died by incorrectly using opiates. It has been that way since the time of the egyptians where the whole entire population was addicted to opium. DO NOT LET YOURSELF BECOME A SAD STATISTIC. DO NOT LET YOURSELF BECOME AN ADDICT, and for the preservation of your life, DO NOT LET YOURSELF OVERDOSE. Watch for any sign that your breathing is slowed past normal. Opiates kill by causing respiratory depression and you can injure/kill yourself under the influence of opiates by doing something you SHOULD NOT BE DOING WHILE ON IT. You fall asleep and never wake up or you get in an accident and you don't know what hit you.

Use and enjoy WITH CAUTION.

Another great tip, if people can be bothered, is to make all their pods up into CFO (if they have gotten good at the CFO method).

This allows a small black ball to be stored for use in making teas. It also makes dosage and administration much easier. CFO dissolves rather easily in hot water and can either be consumed hot or allowed to cool.

It also eliminates most of the bad tastes involved with brewed teas from strait pods.
The potency of this exceeds even slurry's in SWIMs opinion.

There are TWO suggestions that SWIM can make.
1] consuming while hot. Hot water is apparently absorbed quicker than cold water.

2] Has anyone ever noticed that when a liquid that is VERY cold is consumed, it feels like it "hits" the bottom of SWIyour stomach? SWIM has a theory about this. Perhaps an extremely cold liquid may reach a persons stomach quicker and therefor be received by the opiate receptors in the GIT immediately. Foor (or drink) for thought.

I would think the reason why cold water hits the bottom of your stomach is because a cool liquid has a tendency to sink while a warm liquid (the liquid in your stomach that has been heated by bodyheat) tends to rise.

Anyone else aware of any other common medicines that potentiate the tea? I'll add it to the list.

swiy can also take Imodium on poppy tea because it has loperamide in it which is an opiate but doesnt cross the blood-brain barrier but on opiates, it potentiates it and increases the duration

Immodium does work, but it can be hard on your organs. Immodium IS an opiate, and it is a very powerful one. It is (I believe) an offshoot of fentanyl. It is OTC for one reason: It can't seem to get through the blood brain barrier to reach the opiate receptors. In its chemical composition, it has a "branch" that sticks out which hinders its ability to cross the BBB. Constipation becomes downright severe when you mix them. It is also dangerous.

elsewhere in this forum there is mention of adding citric acid to the mix... that may be why?

I don't think it is the citric acid. I think it is actually the Erythorbic acid used to preserve it. I'll add this into the main post. It might be a combination of Erythorbic acid, caffeine, citric acid, sodium citrate, and possibly the coloring agent.

Any of the acids is a good point as acids (like acetic . . . but please do NOT go into this, one cannot do it to opium and remain healthy as Codeine + acetic acid = trouble) can bind with opiates in specific ways slightly altering the absorption and bio-availability of the opiate itself.

Whoever left that negative rep should be aware that morphine is destroyed at about 80 degrees CELSIUS or 175 degrees FAHRENHEIT.

On the other hand, the OP should probably also have made it clear which units he was using, as most of the world uses C, not F.

You can't measure temperatures down to a fraction of a degree accurately, so your best bet is to keep it below about 70C. It's not like you're going to get a radically better product by getting it hotter than that, SWIM reckons.

Through my research I have read many places that morphine is destroyed/evaporated into the air at ABOUT 180 degrees. That is why SWIM set the temperature a little lower, because depending on how it is cooked (convection, bake, etc.) the surface of the tea can cook at a slightly higher or lower temperature. Better to be safe than sorry and screw up the tea, right? That is why SWIM cooks his O at 170 degrees and it turns out just fine.


By the way, whoever gave me a bad mark on my reputation just because SWIM needed to clarify the temperatures NEEDS TO LIGHTEN UP! Seriously, send SWIM a PM and he will review it! Don't just mark SWIM down because of one error! That was ONE TIP out of FIFTEEN. Jerk.


Oh, now I have a "Flaming" reputation post for this. Probably the same asshole who gave me a bad mark in the first place. LOL.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know you could do that. I clarified that SWIM is using farenheit to cook with anyways, so there is no reason for the bad mark to be there.

Just mix 1/2 grapefruit with 1/2 poppy tea. It masks it about four times better than lemon juice. Orange juice is better for masking it, but sometimes SWIM can't even tell the tea is there when I drink it with grapefruit.
