you cant get "more" immune... you are either immune or not. increased tolerance = increased resistance.

Re: I have a serious question

well i mean is it very uncommon to find someone who is immune to adderall?

robbiebm77 added 38 Minutes and 16 Seconds later...

Im sorry but SWIM believes that this is a more important question than the one before. So, SWIM has been bumping his dose from 10mg to 15 mg to 20 mg and is seeing no effect.SWIM is asking should he still keep increasing to 25mg? thanks in advance.

Re: I have a serious question

the LD50 for adderall is just under 100mg/kg of body weight so don't go over a 1/4 of that and you should be fine =)

If SWIY is finding his dose to be ineffective, he should consult with his doctor before self-adjusting his dosage. It sounds to SWIM like SWIY has a naturally higher threshold to these types of drugs, meaning SWIY must take a higher dose to feel the desired effects. Since SWIY is new to this medication, your doctor is likely very receptive about this sort of thing, and won't have a problem presribing a higher-than-usual dose to achieve theraputic results.

Re: I have a serious question

with low doses of amphetamine, like the doses you're mentioning, you don't notice how tweaked you are, but you are. 30mg is fine, people with a minimal tolerance can pump 100. anything after 30 and you should feel a little somethin'.

This is very true. Many people make the mistake of thinking that because they no longer (or as in SWIrobbie's case, never did) feel and sort of tweaking, the medication isn't being effective. However, with prolonged use or for individuals with natural tolerances to amphetamines, this "speediness" will disappear over time, but the drug will still give the user the mental stimulation and promote a greater attention span. SWIM urges other SWIMMERS who are using these medications for therapeutic purposes not to make this mistake of increasing their doses just because the drug doesn't feel the same as it did when SWIY began the regimen...though SWIM recognizes how difficult this can be, as these physical stimulations are quite enjoyable. Happy SWIMming

Re: I have a serious question

Keep in mind, a large percentage of the western population can't consume large amounts of adderall without having a stroke or a heart attack. I have read about somebody dying because he took 100mg orally and went to football practice...which is generally pretty intense on its own. Not to mention some people having seizures at lower doses than others.

And it would seem tolerance to adderall is much more psychological than physical. Just because one doesn't feel tweaked out at an extremely high dose, doesn't mean a little more won't kill them.

And adderall has a 75% bioavailability insufflated, but only 25% orally. So snorting 100mg is roughly like swallowing 15 of the 20mg IR pills (ie 300mg). Which is a LOT. And I doubt many people can make it to 400mg instant release orally at once without dying. Tolerance or not.

Such is the downfall of psychoactive substances with extreme physical side effects such as amphetamine: people chase the euphoria and psychological effects, to which tolerance develops MUCH more quickly than the physical (especially at recreational doses), and the physical effects stay just as strong/get more intense at these higher doses, and this is where the threat of overdose is at its highest. SWIM feels like it's an inevitability at this point that he's going to at some point take 100mg of adderall in one time or at least in a short period, but in his eyes this is breaking through the threshold of minor medication abuse to a much more serious level of abuse. He doesn't doubt that doing so would feel incredible, but for obvious reasons, he is very apprehensive to do it.

SWIM has also read that report about that person's brother who fell over head after going to his football practice after ingesting 100mg. While SWIM can appreciate the rush people may feel, he really doesn't condone working out while tweaking...it really is a recipe for disaster. Even if not lethal, it is likely to produce overdose to some degree, and probably cause lasting cardiovascular problems.
