Drug testing -- oxy vs poppy tea
If SWIMS's cat is on oxycontin and ingested some poppy pod tea will a typical lab urine test just come back pos for opiates in general or will it show the poppy tea as another substance ???

GC/MS can tell the difference between metabolites of poppy seeds vs the metabolites of prescription narcotics.

If swiy has a prescription for oxycontin, then it shouldn't be an issue. GC/MS testing is typically not done for screens anyway. Let us know how it works out please.

SWIM is on federal probation and gets tested every week. SWIM has a prescription for hydrocodone but would like to get back into poppy pods. after SWIM tests positive in the instant iCup its sent away to a lab. does this mean that GC/MS is used on the sample and therefore they would be able to differentiate between the hydrocodone and a poppy dose?
