Adderall As A Homework-Helper

SWIM just took a 20mg XR Adderall. She took it because she has two HUGE papers to write for her class on Wednesday. SWIM was wondering how much SWIY would take to turn out two papers? SWIM feels more energized and focused, but not at the task at hand. SWIM has more 20mgs, but doesn't know if it will be too much to actually do a paper.
So, summary: How much does SWIY take to write papers/do homework/do projects for work, etc?

Re: Adderall As A Homework-Helper

Was the adderall xr crushed? If not you'd only get 10mg upfront than 10mg 4 hours later which might be a light dose. Swim also finds that if the dose is too high it becomes too euphoric for work and tends to neglect it. In doses of 10-15mg its an excellent motivator so he can get his work and chores done.

Re: Adderall As A Homework-Helper

SWIM took the pill whole. SWIM feels like its enough... But maybe she is just having a motivation problem?

Re: Adderall As A Homework-Helper

Could be it if the dose is fine for swiy then tell swiy to just start the task at hand first and the adderall will do the rest. Swim finds sometimes if he doesn't start its hard to do the right things and will just end up playing games or messing around with friends.

Re: Adderall As A Homework-Helper

That's exactly what SWIM is doing. SWIM's attention got focused on Drugs-Forum instead of paper writing. Does SWIY believe that after taking Adderall, the first task or thing SWIY sets to do is what all the motivation will be put toward?
SWIM means this in a way like when a duckling is born, the first thing it sees becomes its mother. Weird comparison, but it was the only one SWIM could think of.

Re: Adderall As A Homework-Helper

Thats what SWIM needs to do. Well, thank Goddess SWIM has more, and have time to do these papers... Next time (probably tomorrow) SWIM is going to start the papers when she takes the Adderall!
What exactly does SWIY mean it helps with amphetamine? ;o

20 mg is a high dose for someone with no tolerance. If SWIY just wants to focus and study, it may be too much. The point is of course not to get high, but just to be sharper and better focused.

Re: Adderall As A Homework-Helper

with SWIM, they took adderall XR this morning for the first time ever, before school started
SWIM found himself much much more focused. The dose was 30 mg, which might have been a bit much for a first time? SWIM isn't sure
anyways, SWIM found that school work was actually enjoyable, and found work to do all day, even when work was not necessary

SWIY, just try starting on the paper right after SWIY takes the adderall like riaahacker suggested. SWIM found that when he started writing in school, he felt no creative barriers or need to stop
the work flowed easily, and it felt like SWIM got three times as much work done as on a normal day

Re: Adderall As A Homework-Helper

In the first link in Potter's post, the author confirmed a fact that SWIM had conjectured when he first began taking adderall: that the brain develops a sort of association over time as to what activities a user does while under the effects of adderall. SWIM found that the drug lost a NOTICEABLE amount of efficacy after the first time he insufflated a mere 10mg and spent several hours playing Left 4 Dead. Prior to this, his brain had only "associated" the increased levels of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin with studying or tedious labor, but once it realized it could enhance even recreational activities in the same way it did these other, less fun activities, SWIM hasn't felt the same about the drug.

Has anyone else faced a similar situation? SWIM realizes that a fair amount of this may just be placebo, but the author of that article seemed to agree that this is the sort of thing that happens.

Re: Adderall As A Homework-Helper

swim hasn't yet tried the drug again, but is planning to possibly within the next week
swim will report back whether effects or similiar, and compare dosages and whatnot
swim thinks it's a very plausible idea about the placebo effect. the mind is very powerful
