Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
Swim is just curious, he realized that he has become more Spiritual from experimenting. It has opened his mind in good ways and sometimes not so good ways but in the end he realizes its worth it. Lifes lessons. You live and learn.
But swim has also realized lately that theres something more to this reality/world. He feels like he cannot truly connect with this realm/dimension and he wants to connect somewere else. ( Swim is not always good with words) Thats why swim is very spiritual, also maybe because of other things too that happened in his life ( not only "drugs" ) He sees drugs as a booster to re inforce our minds grasp on the REAL reality of things... ( Swim was trippin ballzz yesterday, layin on the couch watching his friends play left 4 dead in the dark, mannn that was sooo fuckin crazyy) , anyways , i guess swims question is , has anyone else realized this? as in theres something more to this place than actually getting up in the morning and doing what you do? ( is it more than just a physical world?)

Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
Ever since swim tripped with shrooms swims become very spiritual, and i now know what i believe to be true reality.
I live in the united states and everyday humans are born and are raised in society. This society that we live in is what i used to think was reality. you go to school, get a job, and thats life...Its all bull shit though... our society is controlled by the governtment, with laws, rules, regulations and so on... Thats how people live in most countries, then you have native people who live in the middle of nowhere in south america, or africa, they have no computers, tvs, they dont listen to the radio, they live life totally different, wich is there reality. In my opinion reality is time. Time passing, and what happens while times passes on the mass cosmos and galaxies. Our world earth is really insignificant, there are millions of galaxies out there, with alien life, different stages of evolutiuon, aliens with technology that suceeds ours by thousands of years... with all this going on in the uniuverse does it really matter what goes on on earth? not really....Do most people really think that this planet earth is it? That were the only life forms out there? |

Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
very well said man. There is no doubt in SWIMS mind that there is other life out there. If you think about the scale of things, the chances that our shit lined up perfectly are slim yes. but space is infinite, there is probably no end to it. even if they didnt line up like ours, whose to say that some little organism wasn't able to survive such intense elements and progress from there. SWIM bet's there is some crazy shit out there. am sure that once we die, we are nothing. Religion is just something to make people feel safe while they are here. Something to make it all seem worth it. But SWIM really doesnt know shit, SWIM could totally be wrong. Thats the wonder of it all. We will never know until were dead. Thats why we just need to chill out, and be good people. Thats all that really matters. Things don't mean shit. It's sad when a person can't help someone one because they are on their way to church. If god is real, SWIM is sure he would rather you be out doing things to help your community or people in need, than sitting in a building, singing songs about being in a building, and praying. As for society, fuck it. It makes me want to go live in the mountains. I am forced to go to work and school every day or be homeless. I hate money. It causes so much shit. Even family will never speak to each other again because of it. If we all weren't so consumed by the big house or the nice car or the brand name clothes, think of what our society would be like. It would be a perfect world.
People would actually care again. Like the tribes out in africa. They always look so happy and calm. They dont have a worry in the world except being with the ones they love. I bet none of them do drugs. We are a drug ridden society because we are so numb, depressed, and stressed out all the time. All emotional pain we have from the lack things that really matter. Maybe our parents were gone all day working and when they got home, relieved stress by having a few drinks, which made them angry. They did horrible things. Which were probably done to them. The cycle continues. So its not their fault. People didnt start out fucked up. Think of when we were kids, we had no worries, we loved everyone, we had no fears. Then we got it ingrained in our minds that we can't talk to this person because he has tattoos and a beard. All these pre-conceived notions, thats things are a certain way. We judge people before we ever get to know them. ITs all fucked. I'm tired and if you made it this far please do share your views. I love talking about this kind of stuff. Good night. Fake happiness in a pill. We depend on it. Its all that keeps us sane. |

Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
Christian1122,
Yarbles added 168 Minutes and 32 Seconds later... Christian1122, I too share your frustration with society and its demands. I hope what I can tell you will give you peace of mind. I came up with these theories after much contemplation: The main goal of the human is to survive and reproduce, and there are many programs in place for us to achieve this with the least amount of thinking to do. In addition to our biological programs, there are programs that exist in culture. The people in the bush don't have to worry about any of this. But conversely, they worry more about survival than most of us. Technology has allowed us to satisfy these necessities with the least amount of effort, leaving us with time and space to thrive and advance our society further so that we can cover our needs more efficiently. Programs in culture give us a way for us to deal with this. These programs have repercussions, as they cannot cover all bases, so they must only cover the ones that get us closer to our goal. For example, religion establishes dogma and morals so that one can raise a family with these values, who will then seek to perpetuate the cycle. Yet this dogma causes people to believe things that are illogical. This double-edge is what hurts society. So when a man tells his child not to look because he has a beard, it is because this behavior doesn't comply with the program and therefore must be conditioned against. Judgment is what has kept our ancestors alive and it is what people continue to do until they figure out that everyone's way of life is arbitrary, and as long as they aren't imposing on anybody else's it is a completely valid one. Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
Akashik, I believe SWIM can connect easily to what SWIY stated.
After SWIMs drug use there's really something more to life. It's like a life appreciation door was opened after few times of drug use.. the Doors of Perception? SWIM have always been a quite depressed one, but I believe drugs and experiences from those drugs opened SWIMs eyes to the real world, real emotions. Not only SWIM now appreciates the nature and the perfection of nature's creations, but also the beauty of life itself. And to be honest, SWIM (before drug use) always thought about suicide and things like that - now SWIM really wants to extend his life for as long as possible, cause life - with all the aspects - is simply beautiful and amazing. and one another note.. after drug use SWIM feels that he can easily identify two different pleasures of drug use - first of all, the pleasure of being on drugs, tripping, being high, experiencing many misunderstandable things and then again, the pleasure of being totally sober, clean-minded. has anyone else have this kind of feeling? |

Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
SWIM gets a "spiritual glow" for a while after he trips on mushrooms. He is an incurable agnostic though, with a strong tendency to believe when we are dead it's over.

Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
I'd say it has had the opposite effect on me....knowing that these external substances can elicit such visual/psychedelic/intense hallucinations and emotions has only made me more aware that those people preaching that their experiences must be spiritual haven't experienced everything.
ie: When I hear a person describing a near death experience and a tunnel of light and bliss I just think "yeah, the human mind can generate those kind of feeling..I could prompt it to with a dose of DMT". |

Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
My friend became more "spiritual" as a result of his experiences while under the influence of psychedelics. He just keeps in mind that it is possible for him to reach all of these levels while sober (although takes much more work). He looks at the psychedelic experiences as more of a glimpse of what he wants to attain. He will have a great session, process it, and try to integrate and make progress in his "sober life". In the end he is further along than he would have been without (I guess really there is no way to know for sure
), and the psychedelic sessions give him quite a bit of encouragement, boosting his moral. He just finds it important for him to not become reliant on these experiences, keeping in mind that they are only a glimpse of what he really wants... sort of window shopping or demo-ing. thanks |

Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
SWIM is an ardent atheist and can't imagine how any drug experience could ever change that. However he has had extremely interesting experiences far outside the general range of what most people ever think and feel, which has led him to think about the nature of the mind, the relationship between individuals and society and things of that nature.
But if by 'spiritual', people mean 'aware of or connected to the divine', SWIM'd have to say no, because he doesn't think there's any such thing, and no amount of mushrooms is going to change that. |

Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
Swim has become way more spiritual from her LSD usage. She feels more in touch with the earth and seems to appreciate it's beauty way more. Swim has been more appreciative about the things she does have and she is less fixated on the things she does not have. Swim also feels a much closer bond with her loved ones after using LSD. All in all, she has realized through her LSD usage that the world isn't is bad as she thinks it is and that there are brighter days ahead for her to enjoy and experience.

One could play video games for 10hrs online increase dexterity and hand eye coordination, or one could obtain knowledge thru books, class, experience. My lemur finds it useless to playt video games anymore as he has no way to gain from the hand-eye coordination and dexterity(for example: this would be useful for someone in the army) on the other hand my lemur likes to experiment and tinker .. so he fills his time and days with activities that further these interests and goals. It's all up to the individual player, but we are all in this game of life together. And these realizations come naturally for some, drug induced by others, and never by few. Be well!

Re: Have any Swimmers become spiritual from drug use?
This is a story I heard from a friend: " I have become very religious from psychedelics. I always believed in God but didn't really understand before.
Now I understand exactly how ridiculous and at the same time unfathomably wise and true religion really is. I was born a Christian so Jesus is my favorite God, but all religions are the same really. So you are better off choosing what your people believe because its easier to identify with your own culture, but this is not a must. Above all Gods I honor Zeus the father of Gods and Men. ALL HAIL ZEUS THE FIRST WHO IS. Zeus is my father but Jesus is my brother P.S. If any of the so called christian priests *spits on the ground* ever heard my view about their Jesus they would surely burn me on a stake." |
