SWIM needs help setting expectations for a Suboxone detox
Hello All,
Hoping someone out there knows someone who had a similar situation to SWIM's. SWIM was using about 100mg a day, mixture of oc, perc, hydro's etc. Then for 3 weeks he switched to suboxone. Usually taking 2mg's of suboxone per day for the first 2 weeks, maybe on a weekend night taking some extra. SWIM weaned it down to literally crumbs of sub, estimating possibly 0.25mg per day).
SWIM's last ingestion of his last crumb of sub was 7 days ago. As expected, 72 hour after this, SWIM reached the first plateau, where things again became bearable and SWIM could function at work. Now he's stuck in this mode where very little to no improvement is being seen for the past 3 days. Frequent trips to the toilet and cold sweats bother him for the first half of the day, with some relief in the afternoon. At night the tips of his ring fingers go nuts and keep him from sleeping. SWIM is able to get about 4-5 hours per night.
SWIM has been able to make it outside, going for walks, mountain biking, even playing sports for a few hours...but the cold sweats and general feeling of mental numbness LINGER for him!!! Where is the end of the tunnel so that SWIM can set his expectations accordingly? SWIM has detoxed before but never after 3 weeks of sub...this is uncharted territories for him.
sleepless in nowhere added 6 Minutes and 38 Seconds later...
To clarify further, SWIM's oc/perc/hydro habit was about 3 months in duration prior to switching to sub
