First of all...I find it ironic that people demonize inanimate substances on a harm reduction website.Sorry for those of you that have had people close to you die, rob, steal, etc.but it is not the fault of a semi-synthetic botanical extract.Number One:People are responsible for their own actions.Number Two:The ignorance and hypocrisy of governments that try and legislate morality are responsible for all the misfortune that is attributed to substance use,not the substance itself. My uncle gets ran over by a truck and from now on I blame trucks? Why not outlaw trucks? You see,its not the fault of an inanimate object like a truck-or like heroin-its the fault of many things but most of all the jerk that was driving the truck recklessly. The government and society is driving the truck recklessly.

If your loved ones had access to medically stable supplies of heroin, with moniored healthcare and counselling, and were treated on par with diabetics[another condition that similarly requires an individual to take a substance in order not to feel ill]and not hounded into the blackmarket by societys ill treatment of them,If the government provided their medicine at agreeable, reasonable prices, would they have committed crimes to support their medical needs?Would they take ill and sometimes die?The answer to both of these questions is of course no...

wondering if anyone could help me with the following questions:

1. What does it feel like?
Opiates are the most effective
remedy against depression and pain known to man. Many heroin
users are actually self-medicating depression, being conscious of it or
not. It will, barring possible side-effects described beneath,
give you a feeling of comfort, safety, and happiness; you will find
your senses and intellect in the most exquisite order, legislation, and
harmony. It will not rob you of any self-control but, to the
contrary, greatly invigorate it. The divine part of your nature will be
paramount, and you shall sense a warm glow of benevolence, a
disposition to great things, but always nobly, benevolently and
beneficiently. Your intellectual and imaginative faculties will be
raised to the highest point compatible with your individual capicity.A warm exciting glow will penetrate ever limb of your body, followed by an extended period of tiredness and being "on the nod."

Opiates hook to the same receptors as your body's endorphines. The experience is not comparable to Cocaine or Marijhuana.

2. What are the bad affects?
Pure heroin is not toxic
to any organ system of the body. However, be aware that you won't
get anything close to pure heroin on the street. It will be cut
with something and this something can have very
unpleasant, undesireable, uncontrollable and unknown effects either by
itself or in combination with heroin; in the worst case
life-threatening.

<>Talking now in terms of heroin only, it will, as a first time
user, depend a lot on personal factors. For some, it works "like
a bomb," others throw up and feel very sick and nauseous immediately
thereafter or after the effects vanished for up 24 hours. Itching
is a very common side-effect, albeit again not for everyone.</>

3.
How easily will I get hooked?
In the laboratory it takes, on
average, about a week of three shots per day for physical withdrawal
systems to develop. However, there is, like with any drug, a
psychological addiction potential and, in addition, long-term use can
be very habit-forming. You might not like the experience of
Heroin at all, or you might enjoy a lot. In the latter case, it
will depend a lot on your personal circumstances whether you shall
decide to continue regular use or not. The combined addiction
potential of the drug itself -- in terms of "How easy is it to get
hooked?" and "How is it is to stop, once one is addicted?" -- is about
comparable to the one of alcohol. It's somewhat easier to become
physically addicted, but, once addicted, it's also easier to stop
Heroin than alcohol. Under no circumstances should you take the
drug consecutively more than two or three days in a row; thereafter,
you will have to make a break of at least as long.

4. How much does one person need?
Depends on the
purity, which is unknown, and the person. I'd suggest that
someone that really wants to take it, should be "chasing the dragon,"
taking very small amounts at a time only, waiting for some time to see
what happens and how she reacts.

Quote:
5. How much does it cost?
Depends on where you
live. About $1,500,- for one kilogram in Afghanistan, and about
$10,000,- in Turkey. Prices have dropped a lot, and end user
prices in the West are typically in the range of €30-60 for a gram in
Western Europe, and US$40-150 in the United States. That won't be
a gram of heroin but some substance of unknown purity containing either
no heroin or a few percent to 80+% of heroin (if you are a long-term
addict or know such people that have a really good source.)

Quote:
6. Is it worth it?
Only you can decide this.
There are legal risks involved in many countries (prison, criminal
record) and safety risks due to its illegal status (adulterants,
poisoning, dosage). There are psychological addiction risks,
depending on your state of mind, with negative consequences attached to
it -- most due to its illegality. If you can eliminate all these
risks, you surely won't become physically hooked if you do it only once
or once in a while.

While heroin is technically an "inanimate substance", when given the
opportunity, it can incarnate, and then morph into everything from
terrifying demon to beautiful lover. Mr. Jones, Monkey, Turkey- these
are all entities with animation. And yes, the individual IS responsible
for their actions, but what you are failing to realize is that heroin
can hijack your pleasure/reward pathways, alter your neurochemistry,
and seriously affect your gastrointestinal system. After these
changes, the 'individual' is hardly themselves anymore; they are a
shadow and shell of what they were.

The poppy is referred to as the Joy Plant, by ancient Sumerian(or is it
Hindu??) culture, and this description is very apt. Yes,
opiophiles are usually self-medicating for depression, and YES- opiates
are highly effective. In fact, opiates are the oldest
anti-depressants known to man. However, the anti-depressant
effects of dope disappear quickly, due to tolerance, and the next thing
you know, you're sick as fuck with a killer habit.

Smoke pot...much better on the constitution..

love Betty_Bupe
