Help Feeling Mephedrone effects 48+hrs after last dose

Well my Friend (really) is still feeling effects from mephedrone after 48 hrs of her last dose. She weighs 113 llbs 5'0 38 years old. She's diabetic and has GI tract issures (I dont know the specifics she takes Reglan for it) she went on a 2 day binge consumed a little over 2 grams in two days. no more than a gram each day. Sorry for all this broken english and such im just really worried. What could be wrong?

She said shes tried sleeping, she wakes up in three hours. She still feels euphoric, paranoid, speedy. She keeps telling me shes just ready for it to end and i feel like this is all my fault

Please let me know any questions or information i can find out so we can figure this out. Other people where taking the same ammount and where fine. altho they where larger in size.

Re: Help Feeling Mephedrone effects 48+hrs after last dose

Well this is my first post on this forum, and hopefully you will see it as a sensible one: if there is a genuine case for a health concern DON'T ASK PEOPLE ON DRUG FORUMS, talk to a DOCTOR.

Good luck, I hope your friend recovers and it's not serotonin syndrome or some other acute reaction..

Re: Help Feeling Mephedrone effects 48+hrs after last dose

Richard Smoker aka DICK, posted a very detailed response to SWIDynoMiTe's question in the mephedrone experience thread, but in case they didn't catch it I'll paste it here.

"Ok, there are several issues that make this kind of experience difficult for a diabetic to handle. First of all, at a bare minimum, she should be checking her own blood sugar levels before, during, and after the mephedrone.

the problem with any adrenergic stimulant or anorectic drugs is that they alter your appetite and they also screw up the normal 'triggers' for hypoglycemia (low sugar).

Appetite is important in diabetics because many of them are required to eat small amounts of food regularly in order to maintain a reasonable degree of sugar intake. If she's on insulin, the insulin regiment her doctor prescribes is contingent on her following her normal dietary habits (i.e. not going too long without nourishment). Secondly, the body sends out 'alerts' that diabetics are usually pretty keen on picking up. These alerts indicate low levels of blood sugar, and the diabetic learns to associate the signals with the need to eat some kind of sugar in order to bring the glucose levels back to normal.

It's interesting to note WHAT those signals are that the body triggers when the sugar gets too low. The actual triggers consist of adrenergic activation--in other words, the heart beats faster, the blood pressure rises, generally the same symptoms that mephedrone causes itself...so, what presumably has happened is that your friend went on a mephedrone bender for 2 days. During this 2 day period, her once-stable blood sugar levels became out-of-whack because of the decreased perception of hunger. It is likely that her sugar dropped...even if she did FORCE herself to eat several times in the 48 hour period, it's highly likely that she still ate far less than usual. After 48 hours of cumulative effects, her glucose was likely rock bottom. So, in response, her body began kicking out adrenaline and further increasing the heart rate, blood pressure, and anxiety likely went THRU THE ROOF.

The solution is to have her monitor her own blood sugar levels and to treat low levels as per her doctor's instructions--usually by drinking some juice or eating a meal. She's actually quite lucky that she didn't slip into a diabetic coma as result of this activity. She should really refrain from any such drug use in the future... but if she insists on doing things that are bad for her, she should be aware of the need to force herself to eat a regular intervals. She should set a timer to remind her to eat. and don't forget to check blood sugar levels frequently before, during, and after using drugs. -DICK

Hope SWIYs friend recovers. It seems many people who have had problem following mephedrone use have recovered but this recovery seems to have taken upto a month for some. However as far as SWIM's aware none of these individuals have been diabetic.

Peace,
Geezaman
