Purity - is this powder ketamine.

SWIM recently came to posses a large amount of ketamine. SWIM is used to getting ket in long, thin crystals but this was different. it seemed to have a flour like consistancey, with a few crystals(these just seemed to be compressed amounts of the flour). SWIM was just wondering if this sounds like ketamine, or wether it was something else (eg, actually flour)

This sounds quite odd, as Ketamine in the UK is seldom cut, and usually of a very good purity. SWIM doesn't think SWIY can get a Ketamine testing kit, as there is with MDMA.

Perhaps the best way to try a small line, as usually when things are cut it will be with something inert. Especially in the case of Ketamine which is relatively cheap in the UK.

if SWIM has had K they should recognize the taste SWIM would put a dab on the tounge and spit it out/rinse mouth with water. SWIM should know right away also it should numb SWIMs tounge.

hi, swim has dabbed some on there tounge. they said it tasted chemically, but not in the same sweet way as ket, although they said it tasted a little like ket. if the powder is ket would swim be able to add to water and cook up again.?

I meant that it doesn't numb in the same way as rubbing cocaine on your mouth. Of course at high doses you cannot feel your body.

The types of anesthetics can vary greatly... ketamine is usually classified as an analgesic... meaning that it blocks the conscious sensation of pain, topical anesthetics such as procaine (Novocaine) or cocaine, cause a localized numbing sensation, which is why they spray them on skin when cutting off moles, or inject them into your gums when performing root canals. Analgesics wouldn't cause a numbing sensation when "tasting" because that is not their mode of action.

SWIM has experienced K like this in the past, very fine and like icing sugar/flour. Its strength was fine but the experience of insuflation was unpleasant as it caught the back of the throat and caused coughing or sneezing.

If the substance you are discussing is ketamine then it can be dissolved in water and cooked back up to create a more crystalline powder which doesn't cause as much discomfort.
