Effects - Focalin use for studying.

A friend of a friend of my brother has a textual analysis paper due tommorrow in his English class and he was thinking about taking 1 5MG cap of his brother's ADHD medication (focalin) in order to help him concentrate - should he ?

Would it help him? He only really plans on taking it this once, and if it works well, tight spots in the future but no more than once every few months if that.

Update: Approximately four hours later and he says he didn't feel anything ... perhaps SLIGHTLY more attentive, but even that was probably due to placebo and rushed schedule. Cap was taken in a glass of water. Advice if he ever tries it again ?
