Experiences - Throat hurts after puffing

Hi swim has a problem, 1-2 days after smoking his throat gets really sore.. He smokes pipes and papers. His throat can handle cigarettes just fine, but not weed.

Have anybody got some tips for my friend?

Have congestion, illness, dry air (e.g. from heating systems in the winter) and mouth-breathing been ruled out as possible causes? Two days later seems a bit odd for a smoking-related problem. The next morning seems about right, but two days later?

Assuming they have been eliminated:

First, if someone is having a drug-related problem, probably the best treatment is to discontinue administration of the drug. The monsters in my dreams suggest that someone stop smoking cannabis.

Secondly, changing the route of administration might help. Since the problem seems to be smoking-related rather than cannabis specifically, the sufferer might consider changing from smoking to eating. Cannabis extracted into fat and consumed orally is every bit as effective as smoked. Although it lacks the powerful social ritual of smoked cannabis, it is some individuals' preferred route.

Finally, cough syrup might help! The monsters in my dreams usually use a Chinese herbal cough syrup, Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa, on any day that they smoke anything. It's very effective, tastes good, and does not contain any of the potentially-harmful drugs/chemicals that Western pharmaceutical cough syrups contain. It is widely available in Chinese groceries around the world.

If someone doesn't have access to or isn't interested in pei pa koa, a tablespoon of honey might do just as well. It coats and soothes the throat. It's the main ingredient in most herbal cough syrups anyway!

This seem very strange. As the above post stated its pretty hard to believe its after 2 days when swiy smoked.

Does it systematicly occur after swiy smokes weed?

Thanks Heli, for good advices swim will try eating if the problem continues.
By 1-2 days, i mean the morning after smoking and the day after that. This is like the 2 or 3 time its happened. Swim can feel it the morning after and by the end of the day, its pretty bad. the day after that it seems like swim have had a could for a week or so.
