Question for the "Scientifically-Inclined"

This question is for someone with knowledge of how Ritalin, Caffeine, and Ephedrine effect the brain.

Let's say SWIM were to take a very moderate dosage of each:
Ritalin 5mgs
Caffeine 100mgs
Ephedrine 25mgs

Can someone explain in a scientific, yet not overly-complicated, way of how these three chemicals would function together? Would there be any type of synergistic effect?

SWIM can easily acquire caffeine and ephedrine, but finds it harder to acquire Ritalin. Therefore, SWIM's goal is to create a low-level "concentration cocktail" to help with intense studying. If SWIM had enough supply, SWIM would just stick with small dosages of Ritalin throughout the day. But because supplies of Ritalin can extinguish quickly without a resupply, it would be nice to combine small amounts of Ritalin with other, more easily accessible, chemicals to achieve the same level of "kinetic energy" that SWIM would find with a higher dose of Ritalin. Before experimenting, SWIM would like to draw on the vast knowledge and experiences of others in this forum. And, he would greatly appreciate it if anyone could give him a crash-course in Science 101 in regards to what would take place within the human brain if those three chemicals were introduced simultaneously.

Thanks!

Re: Question for the "Scientifically-Inclined"

Methylphenidate enhances dopaminergic transmission in the brain. Caffeine is an adenosine antagonist, and potentiates the effects of the former through this mechanism.

By blocking its removal caffeine intensifies and prolongs the effects of epinephrine [adrenaline] and epinephrine-like drugs such as amphetamine, methamphetamine, or methylphenidate.
Ephedrine promotes the release of noradrenaline and is a noradrenaline and dopamine re-uptake inhibitor, thereby improving concentration.

If taken at the right dosages, it is likely that concentration will be noticeably enhanced. However, combining three stimulants can have serious risks.

Re: Question for the "Scientifically-Inclined"

Hmmmm... got it.

So maybe, the best way to get most out of a supply of Ritalin is to not take it every day. Maybe I'll just cycle it with caffeine and ephedrine. Such as, one day ritalin, and the 1-3 days could be caffeine/ephedrine.

Thanks
