Dose - How much GHB is a potentially fatal amount to ingest?

Okay, okay SWIM hears alot of this and that when it comes to the max dose of GHB without death. SWIM hears a double dose will at least knock SWIY out and possibly kill SWIY. SWIY also hears reports of people who have taken stupidly big amounts (like 15 table spoons) and woke up a day or so later with just a headache.

SWIM hears even more can be taken with artificial respiratory.

While extrapolation from animal LD50 studies is at best an approximation of a drug's toxicity for humans, the rat LD50 of 1.7 g/kg of body weight would translate into 85 g (3 ounces) for a 50 kg (110 pound) person. This would equate to roughly 10 to 15 heaping teaspoons of GHB - rather more than anyone is likely to ingest at one time.

So is the LD50 of GHB like 5-15 times the amount of a coma-dose? This would assume two points 1) the person is healthy and is NOT sensitive to the drug 2) no other drugs were used at the time.

Anything on heroic doses is welcomed.

Would this make a coma = mild overdose unlike other drugs where a coma is very serious (more serious)?
