So Swim did something real dumb...

So Swim got his usual script for 150 5/325 percocets. He got it a few days early and switched the date and tried to get it early. Didn't work and the pharmacy made the script void, notified the police, and told swim that he had to get a new script. Luckily, the officer let swim go with a warning. Questions for you swimmers out there, do you think swim will get his script that was already written out seen as just the date was altered? Time will tell...

Re: So Swim did something real dumb...

Swim has got his script early before also.( The Dr. was going "out of town" on Swim's normal date so RE-scheduled Swims appt. a couple of day's early).

Swim did NOT "alter" the date on the script, but when Swim gave it to the Pharmacy they told him it was too early to fill it THAT day. The Pharmacy said they would keep the script till it could be filled (Swim thinks it was 2 days).

Longer story shorter, Swim went back 2 day's later and the script HAD been filled and he just "strolled" in and picked it up.

Swim would recomend that in the future Swiy treats they're script like it's "Golden", NEVER "altering" their script in ANY way. Including but not exclussive to bending, folding, tearing, writing on....ANYTHING.

Swim hopes things work out for Swiy.

Re: So Swim did something real dumb...

The most you should do with your script is fold it to put it in your wallet (just do you don't lose it). Trying to alter it when it's for a controlled substance isn't going to go over well.

Re: So Swim did something real dumb...

....do not do this. trust me on this one. First off, it is a felony. It is called "obtaining a controlled substanced by fraud, forgery, or subterfuge" (in the U.S. anyways). The problem is when you get away with it... and you get braver... see where SWIM is going with this. This actually applies to a few other threads.

Re: So Swim did something real dumb...

The MOST that SWIM has seen done is add a refill or 2 at the bottem of the script or add a number in front of,or behind the date that was already there (4,adding a 1 in front becomes 14,etc..).However as mentioned above this is VERY illegal and can cause you to loose your Dr. Let along your freedom and also be blackballed with other Dr.'S.SWIM feels that if the police didn't make a big deal out of it then count his lucky stars.SWIM would go back to their Dr.,tell him that SWIY lost the script and then have it filled.DO NOT forge again and DO NOOOOOOT go back to the same pharmacy.Good Luck!!!

Re: So Swim did something real dumb...

Monkey has no problems getting his refills a few days early on occasion by claiming to be "going out of town for the week", "working all overnight shifts and need more meds than usual due to more waking hours", "family emergency" etc. Key words: On Occasion.
Also, physically altering a script, especially one for a CII, is really tempting fate. Not only is it massively illegal, it can lead to a patient's doctor realizing the patient is abusing his/her meds and discontinuing them, often without a proper taper out of spite. And don't think doctors don't talk amongst themselves about such subjects.

Re: So Swim did something real dumb...

SWIM switched a dose on a script (changing 10 to 20) but it was not a narcotic script so less potential trouble and I had no problem getting it dispensed at my local big chain pharmacy.
