Water Risks and what water to use for I.V.?
Found this !interactive! poster on the exchange supplies website. I was pretty amazed to learn that cold kitchen tap water is actually safer to use for injections than bottled water....
http://www.exchangesupplies.org/drug...ks_poster.html check it out, it's good info! |

I don't mean to big up my own post or anything, but maybe this shud be stickied as it's pretty useful H.M. info for anyone injecting, whether they're new to it, or have been doin it for years....

Re: Water Risks and what water to use for I.V.?
SWIM has used just about any water or its equivalent in a pinch. SWIM has used soda, beer, dissolved snow, and yes even puddle water. When a person has been sick and they finally score and shit is running down ones leg, discretion on water purity goes right out the window. Thank God though, SWIM has never gotten any infections from this behavior except for the occasional case of cotton fever. For the record, SWIM is in no way recommending this to anyone. The injection of any unknown substance is always dangerous.
Just one other comment on this topic. SWIM has seen some people so desperate to get well that they have cooked in their own saliva. This should never ever be attempted. Saliva contains enzymes that should never be introduced into the blood stream. The risk of developing endocarditis and other heart related problems are too great. Re: Water Risks and what water to use for I.V.?
swim used lemonade once as he didnt have any citric, but swim just uses tap water as it has a low enough amount of chlorine to kill alot of harmful bacteria and still be safe.
