Mate in jail
Swims friend just got busted. He was high and a friend got him to rob a bank with him. He was standing outside of the bank, high as hell. He is in prison now, for two weeks. Then he get out, and have to wait for a trial. He will probably be charged with both robbery and a drug charge. Damnit. Only 19 years old. He was the one who got swim started with drugs. Right now swim doesnt know what to do or feel. Swim is confused and scared, and even more scared. This is the first time swim has encountered such a close meeting with the police. True enough, swim didnt have anything to do with it, but one of his bestmates. Swim cant believe this is happening.

Re: Mate in jail
Woodman is absolutely right.
If SWIY's mate is robbing banks, then it's clear SWIY friend's usage has gone way too far! |

Re: Mate in jail
thats an odd sentencing, get arrested, sit in jail for 2 weeks, then get released and go to trial? i thought u sat in jail until your trial, unless you pay bail then you can be free within a couple hours.

Re: Mate in jail
Its weird tho. Swim has known this guy for 3 years, swim has also had his first encounter with drugs with this guy. And he is a good guy, has a bit of problems tho. Family problems that led to drugs. So swim can see why he did it, tho, he doesnt condemn it. It is awful what he did. Swim and swims friends were talking about it, and they actually thought it would have been so much better if they got away. Even tho thats wrong.

Re: Mate in jail
Wait a minute. If he was just standing outside, high as hell. Technically HE didn't rob the bank. Any attorney, lawyer, whatever you call them in Norway should be able to get him off with nothing more than a charge of being under the influence in a public place. Hell, he wasn't even a getaway driver. This sounds stupid. And why were they robbing a bank, for drug money? Then yes, substance abuse has gone too far. Otherwise they sound like they were just high and being stupid. Hopefully no weapons were involved. That would change things. Good luck though, hope he gets off.

Re: Mate in jail
Hey dude I'd say at least write your friend if he has to go do time after the trial is over. All these people here seem to think you should abandon your friends when they get busted, thats some pussy shit. I hope things work out for your friend.

Re: Mate in jail
Swim was in deep a few years ago (fixed himself in recent times), I dont want to go into details but when I say deep Im serious. When he needed his friends they turned their backs which cut him deep. Swim made a decision to fuck those 2 faced 'friends' off and remove himself from those circles, since then Swim's turned his life around and is living a pretty gud life while his 'friends' (without Swim looking out for them) all turned to heroin or crack for various reasons and most of them ended up in prison.
The moral of the story is not to write people off no matter how fucked up they get cos people CAN change, it rare but it happens, trust me I know. Support your friend, maybe he'll make a decision too, gud luck M8 |

Re: Mate in jail
Anybody else interested in what actual drug or drugs was this guy high on at the time? High on "drugs" is a bit vague.

Re: Mate in jail
Well, swim is not going to abandone him.Swim really cares about him. And I think he was high on rivotril, muscle relaxent/anti anxiety meds. Im gonna stick with him, and hope he doesnt have to do time. But if he do, I will write him and visit him if Im allowed. I care about him. Love him like a friend. He is really the most awesome guy who ended up with the wrong crowd. Sounds like an excuse, but its not.

Re: Mate in jail
well let me tell swiy what an old friend of swims did- he left the court house on an assault and battery case that he beat, and outside the court house he mugged an elderly lady in a wheel chair for her pocketbook to buy heroin, she wouldnt let go so my friend ended up dragging her out of her wheel chair before he got tackled to the ground by onlookers,he was charged with 2 felonies one for assault on a disabled person and another for attempted robbery of an elderly person(which is a felony in swims state). he spent 2and a half years in jail and just recently got out and is on probation for a number of years).
swim hung out with him once since he got out but it was real awkward, he still cant believe his friend did that, they were friends for a long and swim would never have guessed he had it in him to do such an awful crime. Last edited by drug-bot; 10-03-2009 at 11:24. |

Re: Mate in jail
Swim has three friends who were arrested about nine months ago. They were breaking into garages and stealing golf clubs to sell in order to maintain a heroin habit. They were each charged with ten counts ranging from home invasion, larceny, robbery, conspiracy, etc. They plead guilty to three counts each and are now serving four years in prison. They will probably get out in two years for good behavior.
Swim understands how you feel, and it is an awful feeling. Ultimately there is nothing you can do except move on with your life and be thankful for what you have. Unfortunately he had to learn the hard way, but you must learn something from his mistakes too. Even if you would never rob a bank, you can still sympathize with your mate's condition. Be thankful you were not involved, and move on with your life. What does not kill you makes you stronger. The serenity prayer helps too. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference." |

Re: Mate in jail
an accessory, his barrister will be able to get him off with that probably- not in a getaway vehicle, high as a fukin kite- mate surely he can claim temporary insanity/irressponsibility (can't remember exact definition) through intoxication- it's his word against his mates- and he wasn't the 1 with his sticky fingers in the till!
