Swim needs to know

Swim's friend died a few days ago and was told it was an H od. Some sites say that it is painless, like you just kinda fall asleep and never wake up. Swim needs to know what his friend went through if it was H od that killed him. No one knew aparantly that swim's friend was doing H, Swim know he was depressive but Swim refuse to beleave that is was suicide. Swim does not do drugs so all Swim knows about this is from google and this place.

Does annyone know what could have happend? Swim just need to know that he did not feel pain ,but then again... how can we realy know?

Thank you for taking the time to answer

Re: Swim needs to know

I know my words can't do much to help your grief, but you post touched me and I am very sorry for your loss.

Instead of talking about heroin overdose (I'm sure plenty of people will be able to share experiences) I'll share my personal belief about death, as it has comforted me when I've lost people close to me. I hope I manage to convey my sincerity, and that my words don't sound like a cliche. (It might help if you know that I'm a scientific, practically minded person, trained in medicine and obsessive about evidence).

I truly believe - with a strong and inexplicable conviction - that whatever someone might feel in the moments and seconds leading up to death, the final event is one of peace and wonder, as the consciousness merges back into the oneness.

I've felt this for as long as I remember and it's not based on any particular event. However, when I was working in a hospital in Mexico as a student, I was with a patient when he died (as a result of cancer). He was in a lot of pain, unlike someone who has overdosed on heroin. I held his hand and looked in his eyes to show him I was with him. When he did die I was still looking into his eyes and I saw the fear and pain go, and I saw his acceptance and peace. It was such a very brief moment, but I know it outweighed everything that had come before it.

Re: Swim needs to know

Swim is very sorry for your loss, but is definitly in agreement that swiyour friend didn't even know he was going to die...

Swim overdosed one time, and it was because he used high grade dope after drinking a half a fifth of vodka in about 20 minutes. He did the dope, and fell out, not even knowing. The last thought he remembered was "this is the best feeling swim's ever had" and then went into a nod, only to wake up later telling his girl to chill out because it wasn't a big deal. So sadly, your friend died and never even got to know it was coming. Me, I want to feel what it's like to die. Call me crazy. But rest assured your buddy didn't feel any pain, No heart attack-like symptoms, no constricted breathing, no stroke, just sleep, and then respiratory arrest while he was sleeping. Again...sorry for your loss, swim knows exactly what swiyou are feeling. It sucks and if swiy needs someone to talk to, swim is here, he lost more than one of his best friends to dope.

Re: Swim needs to know

swim has oded and died for about 2 minutes.

it's painless, you're basically incredibly high, pass out, and either wake up to a very miserable affair with paramedics, or you don't
