SWIM has a pet snake, unfortunately addic'd to 'h' and other opies. Jus snifs, no pokemons. SWIM's pet snake was just a puffer, b4 some other pet snake walked SWIM's pet snake down the dark path. Misery loves company...
SWIM's pet snake is pretty ok most of the time, as long as SWIM gives up some of SWIM's p.k.s , when SWIM's pet snake is out of it's d.o.c.. Oh, and SWIM's pet snake's opie addi pet snake mate complicates things... SWIM's pet snake works hard, but still has this prob. What kind of real help could SWIM's pet snake get for little or no $$, and w/o risking SWIM's pet snake's anonymity or job or freedom?? Does the one-shot fix work? SWIM's pet snake has little $$ obviously, nor does SWIM.... SWIM's pet snake is very confused. It's not like SWIM's pet snake is falling out of the trees or anything. SWIM's pet snake is good, other than pet snake's prob. SWIM's pet snake is just crawling along, maintaining, sick alot, wanting out.. What can SWIM do, within reason, to help?? SWIM would like to get pet snake into a different box soon, SWIM is getting weary of enabling pet snake. But SWIM loves pet snake, and doesn't want to kick pet snake out into the dirt if poss. SWIM is hopin' to hear from y'all...

Re: SWIM need advice
I'd love to help, but is there any chance yo could make this clearer? Are there two people here? Swim and, swims pet snake? (Like someone and a partner?). What are p.k.s? Is d.o.c. drug of choice?
I understand you don't want to self incriminate, but as pet cats, dogs, monkeys and snakes are often used much like SWIM it's all a bit confusing. And in future maybe it's best not to post so much slang, as this is a world-wide forum. Some of us live in countries that are not the USA! It just means we can't all understand what you're saying and/or give you advice that easily. Thanks! There is no one shot cure for addiction (there is ibogaine). There are lots of people in here who have given up opiates or, perhaps I should say, who own pet cats that have done so! I have such a cat, and he helped me write the following A how-to guide to opiate detoxification [you can click on the link]. This outlines the most common options available for detoxification from opiates. Best of luck to SWI-you or S(ome) Snake WI your pet! Dickon [confused] Last edited by Dickon; 27-02-2009 at 23:17. Re: SWIM need advice
Swim knows that sometimes he sees snakes walking around looking to score,he once saw this boa constricter type looking snake ask a runner if he could get him a bundle.........well the runner said he only moved crack, and things were pretty dry around his projects in the Herion trade.........well that didn't do Mr Boa any good, besides he was gettijg very dopesick...........well the friendly runner told him to see the guy two blocks down and said he could help.......so he met the strange man two blocks down and he sold him a bunch of orange pills called Suboxone.....boa took them home and let one desolve under his forked tounge.....and a hour later all withdrawal symptoms were gone,so now Boa could go to work,Boas wife never noticed a thing......Boa used them for a week and then stayed clean and turned over a new leaf...................Then again Boa could have just found a doctor and got help the right wat..................seriously Mr Boa Constrictor should look into Suboxone for a pain free detox,,,,,,,,but don't use them for maintaing....no mater what anyone says..........UTSE plenty of info there

Re: SWIM need advice
Swim's pet snake (SWIM's offspring), and his mate slither-er (we don't talk much)--
Are going for suboxone treatment soon! It's either that or Swim's snake will be slithering' down the road with his mate close behind... Not that it's a magic pill. But SWIM's pet snake is motivated, he's tired of being' sick. Swim's pet snake is not a candidate for Methadone, he's not that hard core. No injecting or smoking. Pharms though, when he can't get his DOC. Sick a lot. Swim's pet snake wants to quit it all, his research has given him confidence he can do it with the help of Suboxone, as SWIM's pet snake can continue to do his thing w/o having to slither up to a clinic every day. Putting SWIM's pet snake in contact with some real hard-core snakes, many criminally inclined. He definitely is not criminal, violent, or anything but hurtin' and ashamed... SWIM's pet snake will be under a veterinarian' care, nit some brain-dead govt worker. But SWIM's days of sympathy/enabling are over. SWIM is moving, and pet snake knows his residence there will be totally conditional. And the $'s gotta be straight! SWIM lives on disability... SWIM's pet snake has held a job for 3 yrs. He has had the same girl snake longer. SWIM loves his pet snake, and only wants the best life for him. He loses the opiate jones, and I know SWIM and his pet snake can have a good life, together or alone. But SWIM will have enough tough luv now, pet snake already spilled his guts to SWIM, there's no going back on that. Please wish SWIM and his pet snake good luck and good cheer! SWIM sez peace out...

Re: SWIM need advice
Program includes taper, how fast SWIM don't know. But it is required, they will taper you off or fail you. Or switch snake to methadone, which would not cut it with SWIM! 'nuff said...

Re: SWIM need advice
He's not the only one...
![]() If you think you can stick it, cold turkey costs nothing, but takes a severe toll on ones mental health. In the UK, you need a GP referral for methadone or bupenorphin, which isn't anonymous at all. A right PITA and a real off-put as SWIM found himself, it's far from helpful, as you'd be "blacklisted" from any decent pain treatment again... The US may be different, I've heard there are walk in clinics, but they ain't cheap. Sorry about your situation, it's a difficult one indeed, but cut the crap in SWIY's stories and you may get better help!

Crap? Just following the rules best I can, and SWIM's own paranoia. Heck, if my wife can decipher it- LOL!
SWIM will try to do better... Sorry for your troubles. We in the U.S. are under the assumption that the UK is more understanding of addiction, SWIY... Guess it's just as f 'ed up over there eh?

Re: SWIM need advice
Good Luck to SWIY and his pet snake.
SWIY should reads up on the PAWS(post-acute withdrawal syndrome) thread and be prepared for what can follow the physical part of detox in order to best be able to help his snake. Recovery from opiate addiction can be a real bitch. Excuse SWIMs bluntness...but there really isn't a more adequate word. There were periods during her very personally long PAWS-phase that were so brutal mentally and emotionally that there were periods that made SWIM think continued addiction might have been a better alternative. Fortunately, even if it IS long--not all are as long as SWIM experienced and some seem to make it thru easier than others in severity--it IS temporary. SWIM thinks had she been prepared mentally for that part that it MIGHT have made it easier for her to endure...but places like DF weren't around back then...and N.A. never was a big hit with SWIM. The fact that he has some sort of "support system" for encouragement and advice should help the snake out considerably. SWIM thinks it's great that pet owners think enough of their pets to educate themselves on their care and "special needs" during these times. Anyhow, not to ramble. SWIM and her kitty wish you all calm seas, a following wind, and a bit of good luck ![]() Oh, and SWIY's posts became clearer with the second addition SWIM thinks.
