Addiction - Vicodin?

SWIM has gotten a legal prescription of Vicodin. I don't know much about this drug, but I have heard that it can be abused and become possibly addictive. Does anyone know much about this drug? Any personal experience with it? Sorry if this thread has been made before, but I didn't want to bother looking for it, so if there was another discussion on the matter will someone please link me, and if not it would be really awesome if I got some answers. Thanks

This should not have been posted in the amphetamine section as Vicodin is an opiate.

Vicodin is a brand name...the active ingredient in Vicodin, Lortab, etc is Hydrocodone, an opiate analgesic with euphoric properties (gets you high) & is synthesized from thebaine (an opiate compound found in the opium poppy).

For one with no tolerance to opiates, 10-20mgs will produce a strong stoning effect that lasts around six hours (come up, peak, and come down)...

Next time use the search engine or erowid.org...

Hydrocodone and other synthetic opioids (oxycodone, fentanyl, hydromorphone, oxymorphone, codeine, etc) are just as addictive as heroin (an opiate) & should be used in moderation and responsibly or not at all...

Uhh...Typo?

Vicodin AKA hydrocodone is definately an opiate/opioid.

Also, not sure whether the hydros/vikes are 5/325's, 5/500's, 7.5/500's, 10/325's or 10/500's (Hydrocodone/Acetaminophin aka tylenol), but if Some1 Who Aint You intends on using them recreationally I'd suggest doing a Cold Water Extraction to remove the tylenol/acetaminophin because its especially toxic to the liver & other organs (the hydrocodone isn't, ironically)
