Whats happened? Amphetamine gives no effect.

I had this crazy dream that i was asking a question here.
Actually it was so detailed i can remember what the question was.
So ill repeat it here just for fun, maybe it would be fun to answer it aswell!

Hi guys. im really wondering what has happened to me and my brother.
Problem: Amphetamine does absolutely nothing to us, even if injected at high doses. Theres nothing wrong with the speed, as anyone else who has tried it says its pretty good actually.

We have a couple of theories ourselves, but im wondering if anyone else has had this happened to them?

Background:
We have both used heroin for a year, but recently quit and were now soon past the first month.
My brother is on 0,4mg buprenorphine a day, im not on any bup now.
Apart from that, neither of us uses any medication like antideps or that kind.
It should be mentioned that we have both been depressed for a couple of years, and did use SSRIs for some time long ago.

So after both doing a whole lot of reading, and trying different kinds of speed.(just from different suppliers, not actually different substances)

The best thing we can achieve is a light rush for about 10 secounds after shooting up a good dose. If were lucky, were also a bit "woken up", but wouldnt have any problems sleeping... pupils are not dialeted, nothing is like it should be :X
Before we got into heroin speed worked just fine, it worked when we used heroin too.

So after detox which included some subutex and ketamine, we wanted to have some speed to get the appartment cleaned and have a good time after those shitty weeks of pain and hell.
So the first few times we though we had just bought some shitty speed, so we tried again, and again.. After a handfull attempts we concluded that the speed offered on the street here is jsut very, very weak.
So we gave up, and went to a private little party that night.
We told our story to our friends, who looked weird at us and asked who the hell we bought it from.
I had half a gram left in my pocket and asked if anyone wanted to give it a shot.
These are all pretty hard drugusers, so they know what speed should feel like.
They tried to mix some with cold water, and it turned out to be just as soluble as it should be. So they tried to snort a little bump and when they felt it a bit later they all that the problem wasnt the speed, but had to be us.

I might still have some buprenorphine left in my system, but from what i can gather, this shouldnt block the amphetamines effect.

So after doing some more thinking and reading, our next theory is that since we moved together for 4 months ago, after both had lived with girlfriends and had a normal life with a normal diet, we've not really eaten much but pizza and cupcakes, not drinking anything but coke, beer and thats it.
Because we were using heroin all day, and nobody to cook for or with, what we ate wasnt really a priority.
So this would obviously led to insufficiency of alot of minerals, vitamins and proteines.
We both ate a solid dose of all kinds of multivitamins and polyunsaturated fatty acids and whatnot we could find of supplement in the kitchen closet for about 12 hrs ago. so it should be interesting to see if this will have any effect, and if so, how soon.


Thats our best bet till now, hope someone can shed some light on this for us.

Did SWIY ever do a fair amount of IV Cocaine? When SWIM was in active addiction, he did ALOT of coke. In his travels, his path would often cross with some people who were into IV methamphetamine. SWIM has injected meth many times and found it to be not very 'intense'. When someone is used to injecting a 1/4 gram of coke, the rush soooo extreme that you loose your hearing because the blood is rushing past your ear drum at such an accelerated rate. Your vision tunnels in and sometimes you pray to God that your heart isn't gonna explode, just to turn around and do even more coke 20 minutes later. Then yes, meth can be a little blase'.

stimulants offer cross tolerance to some degree, even cafeine and ephederine will cross tolerate a bit to recreational drugs, SWIM was a 200-600 mg's cafeininer daily and found that even though he wasn't a regular amphetamine or coke user that during his time of cafeine binging he was more tolerant than expected

SWIM just wants to add one more thing. The chronic use of cocaine can rewire a persons brain chemistry. The effect that cocaine has on neurotransmitters and close to 90 other parts of the brain could possibly have an effect on the way methamphetamine is absorbed. Also, tolerance could be a factor. SWIM is looking into this. Most interesting. If SWIY isn't a cocaine user, I guess none of this matters anyway.

Since this is a dream, it's okay that it doesn't make any sense as dreams often don't. But assuming for a moment that it actually happened to someone, it would be very interesting to me. I'll try to find anything on the matter and report my findings back here. Just in case something like this is at all possible irl.

I'm interested in seeing where this thread leads.
