1mg of methadone doin this?

I was lookin around on erowid at methadone experiences and i found this:

What i was wondering is it possible for a person to be THAT fucked up by ONE mg of methadone? Or is it possible that she freaked herself out so bad that the negative placebo affects could be that bad? Or maybe she was just mistaken period and actually did like 100 mgs or somethin... i dunno it just seems that 1mg fucking someone up for 2 days is a little extreme..

This report is really weird because

a) 1 mg of methadone will have almost no noticeable psychoactive effect and would be extremely difficult to accurately measure out anyways. Despite this, she claims to work at a pharmacy which makes one thing that she would at least get the dose of her drug right.

b) She claims to urinate part-way through the experience which would have been difficult or completely impossible under the influence of "too much" methadone.

I don't have an explanation but either the dose is wrong or the effects are not attributable to the methadone. 100 mg would certainly be too much for her, but why would someone who works at a pharmacy be stupid enough to take 100 mg of methadone with no tolerance?

Swims pretty sure that there would be no effects felt from such a small amount.And shes certain the effects reported by this person wouldn`t be felt from just 1mg.Its just not possible imo.
Even if he`d erroneously taken 10mg,swim thinks he might have felt the itching but she`s extremely doubtful about that degree of nausea being attributable to the methadone.
Swim remembers throwing up after opiates when she first started using them.
But - and this is gonna sound weird - except maybe to other opiate users - there was only one bout of nausea & it wasn`t preceded by loads of heaving or stomach churning misery,it was in fact,part of the buzz & was even enjoyable as such!
Yep.like swim said - sounds weird - but its not only swim - she`s heard exactl the same thing from others.

SWIM doesnt react well to Methadone. He never had that severe an effect but was getting a weird effect from as little as 2mg (liquid, sucked up in a syringe, squirted into mouth).

Just felt very strange and uncomfortable for a day, no nausea or anything.

Since it comes in 5mg 10mg and rarely wafers containing 40mg 1mg is just rediculous. She took a 5mg pill and split it into 5 pieces? haha how unlikely. She could have taken 10mg and it was her VERY first time with any opioid or shes completely lying. 1mg is recidulous. Patients in methadone clinics get doses as high as 300mg daily, SWIM highly doubts 1mg would be even a slight bit noticible to anyone besides little babies.

If SWIY is trying to find a good first time dose SWIM would recomend buying a 10mg pill, take 5mg at first and see how that hits SWIY, if SWIY is feeling good then stop if SWIY only feels a little bit or nothing than pop that other 5mg. This way SWIY will have an enjoyable experneice without having too much, and SWIY knows their dose for next time, al though tolorance will make it higher, but it is definently better to start small than start big and its too late. 5mg is smart to start.

Surely must be 1ml of 10mg/ml methadone. I agree, 1mg of methadone, zero perceivable effects and minimal analgesia, if any.

This sounds like a horror story to me, no way was this 1mg, no way in hell. I find the pharmacy story highly dubious, in fact i doubt the entire story.

no way. that dose would have killed her, unless she had some sort of mega cross tolerance resulting from other opiate and/or prescription drug abuse. didnt sound like it though, just sounded like someone experimenting.

jeebus, does methadone even come in powdered form? it didnt back in the day, not here. only liquid, or tablet form.

Yea it does come in powder form initially and then it is mixed in to the liquid methadone. Usually this is done by the pharmaceutical company that manufactures it in the first place but i have heard many times that a lot of pharmacies mix it on site, perhaps it's cheaper.

100mg would definitely have killed her unless as mentioned she had a long standing habit and relatively large tolerance. I can understand why someone would say it doesn't sound like 10mg let alone 1mg, it's just not enough to do anything like described and forget about virtually incapacitated someone for over 36 hours.

To me this sounds like a horror story, trying to say that methadone is a terrible nasty drug when the only real difference that i know of, is the huge half life compared to other opioids, i certainly wouldn't say it's a heavy hitter, certainly not in terms of dose. Oxymorphone, fentanyl and diamorphine are heavy hitters but only in the sense that they are highly sought after.

SWIM has NEVER heard of powder being mixed into a liquid, at doses as high as 10mg/ml the amount of powder would be rediculous not to mention 100% pure. The pharm company that manufactures methadone liquid makes it at the factory or whereever. Think about it, its not just like koolaid mix into water.....

Not all methadone gets prepared at pharmacies, sometimes its prepared on site at the pharmacy. And yeah i guess you could compare it to koolaid mix lol. And 10mgs of powder wouldnt be much at all. You may be thinking of 10grams?

Personally i think it's a horror story that has no basis in reality and this whole "experiment" was a story made up to scare people about methadone. I don't beleive she works in a pharmacy and i don't believe she has even touched methadone in her life.
