SWIM said,
"Weed has been an old friend to me for many years but now i think it's time to end the relationship. Weed used to leave me feeling relaxed and at ease with life and those around me. However after it becoming an hourly thing of the day, the high doesnt seem worth the money. For instance when i started smoking weed i'd smoke a couple nice joints with friends and be ripped. Now i have to smoke a joint to myself to even feel a thing! Its been about 3 years now that ive been smoking and about 2.5 chronically. I used to have many goals for myself, and many girls interested. Now it is the opposite for me, i feel burnt out and tired most of the time and havent had a girl into me in over a year and a half. It got to the point that i'd plan to go out to parties but would just end up gettin high and sleeping instead because of the social anxiety i have developed from smoking pot." Does anyone else feel in the same situation with their toking?? Is weed known to bring out bad anxiety in certain people?? Last edited by Shampoo; 23-02-2009 at 08:07. Reason: self-incrimination |

Re: Time to quit Marijuana
o god yes, my taxi driver had full blown panic attacks brought on by cannibas use. It settled down after she stopped but it did take quite a long while until she felt normal again in situations such as standing in a shop queue, putting petrol (gas) in the car, using an ATM. Normal every day things were a real issue for my taxi driver. She has slowly felt these familiar feelings creeping back lately and so is laying off the weed for a while. And its true she looks so much better without constant blood shot eyes.
Do remember to use SWIM (Someone Who Isn't Me) when talking about drug use. I'm sure you were talking about some dude that you know. |

Re: Time to quit Marijuana
It sounds like your friend's decision to stop smoking pot, if even for a little while, is a good idea. When a part of someone's life becomes their life, everything goes out of balance.
Marijuana does cause anxiety in some people. This largely depends on their mindset and surrounding, or set and setting. This crazy pot head once felt the same way. He stopped smoking for many months, and took new directions in life. He returned to smoking later and enjoyed it once again.....

Re: Time to quit Marijuana
I think that drugs should be avoided by people going through hard psychological times in their life because any drug would now have the potential to be addicting and abused. Marijuana can be enjoyed responsibly, and it should definetely be kept to a once a week/month thing to keep the abuse potential down. i definetely recommend you stop cold turkey and find a hobby or meet girls, just get your life back on track. when everything is finally good again, if the mood strikes, a joint once a week wont hurt.
