Snorting - How to Create Snortable Opium

Last year SWIM created a procedure to make opium putty a powder thats snortable with very little nasal discomfort (far less than snorting cocaine or meth).

The procedure starts from cooked/filtered/evaporated opium putty.

1) Melt opium putty in pot of water over medium heat.

2) Add fair quantity of pure inositol powder (SWIM recommends "NOW" brand pure inositol powder), amount depends on how much putty was used. Using a 1:1 ratio of weight for opium putty to inositol powder should suffice. SWIY can experiment with more/less.

3) After starching the opium solution with inositol powder, pour 2-4mm's thick (or personal preference) into a casserole dish and proceed to dry the dish. Can be dried in an oven, low-heat on stove with a fan blowing on it, or out in the sun.

4) Once dried it will resemble a sheet of brown glass. Scrape from casserole dish into glassy shards and place into coffee grinder and proceed to grind until a light-brown/tan colored powder. When ground fully, will be a very soft, fluffy, and light powder. Resembles tan-heroin in appearance.


Works very well to snort. Smoking the powder is very weird, if exposed to direct heat the powder instantaneously expands to 5x its size and instantly becomes a giant black gob of putty.

Storing the powder in an air tight container, preferably with a dessicant packet included is advised. If left out in the open for several days in moderate-high humidity, the powder will revert back into a gob of sticky putty.


Very pleasant to insufflate, no discomfort whatsoever in SWIMs opinion.

There is an easier way which does not require the adding of any powders.

Basically the Morphine is converted to a salt and precipitated from the solution.
This has been explained in other threads such as "Extracting morphine the easy way"

Another way is to just put the CFO into a coffee grinder and powder it. Since it is water soluble it will work ok, however SWIM has never actually tried this.
