Sick? panic attack? after smoking

SWIM is not a daily smoker, but probably 4-5 times a week. Recently SWIM began to have horrible effects, vision would have strange effects at times (mainly when standing up and walking) SWIM feels like hes going to puke the entire time and sometimes almost does. SWIM would also have a REALLY hard time following any conversation. SWIM also if it was really bad had extremely red eyes, pale skin, and generally look sick. SWIM would also sweat really bad, if someone had touched SWIM hand they would ask why are you sweating so much. SWIM would CONSTANTLY think people are talking about him and cannot tell if what SWIM hears is actually being said or not or if SWIM is imagining it.

SWIM does not know if this is just being "too high" or is SWIM having a panic attack or something? What exactly happened?

SWIM isn't the healthiest person at all, and has been diagnosed with depression.

SWIM does not think he wants to smoke cannabis until he is in better physical shape and mental state. After time, will SWIM ever be able to enjoy smoking again?

There's no way of telling. Best advice is to avoid using cannabis for now and if you do go back to it, tread carefully.

It sounds like swiy's body is saying that it has had enough. Those symptoms sound like someone who has a low tolerance to marijuana, although if swiy is smoking steadily, this doesn't usually happen. Perhaps swiy has developed a sensitivity to the substance?

An panic attack, or anxiety attack, is characterized by feelings of fear, paranoia, as well as physiological responses such as racing heart, short shallow breathing, etc. See the panic attack wiki for more information.

Some individuals use cannabis to self medicate depression. For others, it makes it much worse. Exercise and a healthy diet are beneficial for everyone.

This crazy pot head (who really isn't all that crazy) would say that is a very good idea. Swiy should take a break, re-establish a different lifestyle, and then see what works. TCPH has smoked daily for months at a time, and then taken almost a year off at others.

He thinks swiy would be able to return to smoking again, but it would be good to experience different angles of life for a little while....

Re: Sick? panic attack? after smoking

SWIM has some experience with panic and cannabis..

Swim has Panic Disorder, and most of the time cannabis helps to settle her. But every so often, she will smoke a joint and it will just make her feel like she is about to die (nausea, pain in left arm and shoulder, chest pains, heart palpitations and skipped beats)!

Swim finds when this happens she needs to stop smoking for a little while, and adress her anxiety again with the doc, and then after a month or two VERY CAUTIOUSLY begin to smoke again - like a puff or two at a time, increase in single puffs, to see what the reaction will be.

Swim has no idea what could be causing it to be such a random thing other than maybe the panic disorder getting out of control again.

Re: Sick? panic attack? after smoking

Best advice would be to stay away from cannabis for a while, SWIY seems to have listed ALL of the potential negative effects from smoking that SWIM is aware of.

However, there are many different strains of cannabis, and it could be that the strain SWIY has been getting is particularly potent (SWIM is not calling you a pussy, SWIM infact encountered the same thing recently, a batch of weed that lead to a very unpleasant high, SWIM assumes due to potency or THC/CBD etc makeup).

If for whatever reason SWIY continues to smoke in the immediate future SWIM suggests SWIY gets a different strain, or buys from an alternative source where the strain has a good chance of being different. Switching to smoking hash (though be careful with the amounts) may also provide SWIY with more pleasant effects.

Peace
Geezaman

I have heard that people's alergies can change over a short period of time. Maybe possible that swiy may have developed an allergy to pot?

Re: Sick? panic attack? after smoking

if your diagnosed with depression you shouldnt take weed more than around 3 times a week. or if you want to take more than that you shouldnt take more than what your body can tolerate. remember, stop taking hits when you feel the hit already or else you might feel that way again. sometimes we dont realize we just keep on puffing and puffing even though were stoned already and thats when your eyes get redder than usual, etc
