Smoking - Smoking opium - help needed

Hello,

My friend and I are currently in Nepal with a big stash of opium in our hotel room. We have used all kinds of drugs recreationaly and responcibly over the years but never dipped into opiates. After having researched how best to go about smoking it we decided to construct a tube with a 'bowl' at the end using tin foil.

After putting the opium in the bowl (about a small pea-sized amount) we heated it using a flame underneath the foil, until the opium started bubbling. As soon as this started to happen we sucked the life out of the tube, all the time trying to keep the op burning.

To say we didn't get high is an understatement, I was dizzy from being short of breath, that's it!

What are we doing wrong? There's no question as to the authenticity of the drugs, that's not the issue here, it's just we ain't quite smoking it right.

The only thing we can think of (and this is from lookinh around) is that we are heating it too much, however I have to stress the op is not getting any direct heat and there is never any actual smoke coming off it at any point.

Also, this subject is touched upon in other threads however we need specifics, think of it as 'an idiot's guide to ...!'

All help/advice is much needed and appreciated, however basic it may seem.
