Hello, SWIM quit opies in the form of a 28 day taper and is now (4 days into being on zero opies). The whole time SWIM has been taking 10 mg of Ambien to help SWIM sleep otherwise I don't think SWIM would have been able to do it (SWIM is working full time currently and cannot afford to not sleep). SWIM's last attempt at quitting opes (this past summer) failed as the dose was too high for SWIM to sanely come off of. This combined with the fact that last attempt, SWIM hardly slept while trying to dot it, SWIM made sure this time around to plan a solid taper and to have Ambien on hand (this is the first time SWIM has ever touched Ambien----on them for about a month now but planning to cut back soon)
Sorry for the long post, but SWIM'S question is: Is Ambien as hard to get off of as benzos ? Because SWIM also has experience with benzo taper (took SWIM 1 full year to get off then 6 months on top of that to finally feel normal). SWIM does not need to go through any new withdrawals but also needs the sleep meds for at least a few more days. ..please share any thoughts........
