International - Backpackers Urin-Test Thread!

In a few Day`s Swim is going to India and will do normal Things.
From Thailand he know that the Police have the Right to check
Swim`s Urin for Drugs, do someone know the situation in India?

Swim is talking about normal Controlls in a Club or also Train
and Bordercrossing!

How`s about other Countrys?
Where the Police controll "Backpackers" for Drugs by "Urin-Test"?

I know the Rules only in nothern Europe,
there the Police have the Right too,
but only when Swiy is driving a Car!

When swim was in Thailand (Pattyaya) last year they had on the spot urine checks on the side of the road.. Swim was lucky !

Its not nice to be on a motor bike taxi on yaba and drive past a police check point !! Trust swim on that one.

Sorry not sure about other places, swim is going to the Philippines next. Shabu shabu !

Hai so desu,
in Thailand the Situation is very, very rough.
Swim knows from Razzia (plural) in many Places,
mostly at Khao San (Bangkok) and different Bordercrossings like Nong Khai
and Pakse (both are close to Laos) and of course the Border @ Had Lek to Cambodia!

Also Dubai- Airport have very bad Reputation, so dont fly via or Stoppover there!

How is the Situation inside of the US., Canada and Australia?
Do the Police have a smelly interest in Urin from travelling People?

No, not really.. Police would never randomly drug test an individual in the US without some sort of reasonable cause. In other words, you would have to get caught for something first, and the test wouldn't occur for hours, if not days or weeks.

Singapore is known to urine test people-- very harsh penalties.

India/ Pakistan can give very thorough 'patting' checks at borders- everywhere but the genitals! I've never seen urine tests. Theoretically the punishment for cannabis possession is 7 years, but a bribe is more likely if someone was indiscreet enough to get caught.

Not sure about Thailand except that since Thaksin's time it's not the same relaxed place and foreigners do go to prison for drugs sometimes (or pay bribes). Some border crossing can be very relaxed(eg, from Cambodia) but you can't rule out being stopped if you were unlucky.

Japan incidentally has sniffer dogs sometimes in airports(as do Australia and New Zealand).

Here in Japan the Police can hold Swim up to 28 Days in the Prison
or you do the Test, happend to some Famous People here.
But they will never do this to "temporary Visitor`s".

But please let us focus to Backpackers!

They will search backpackers in Japan. SWIM knows this, which is why I mentioned it. What they actually do if you are caught as a tourist, he doesn't know-- nor does he want to find out.

Of course they Check Swiy on the Airport,
Swim arrives many times here and looks very like a typical Suspect!
Funny is they have a Book with Pictures and ask:
"Do you know this Plant"?
Can Swim lie with a big smile on his Face?

But i never heard about that the Police come to a Club
and ask for a Urin-Example!

Only if Swiy is doing Drugs and they see it, than they have the Right to
Check it up, but in Thailand eg. they have a special Car
going to some Diskothek and controll everyone!
