Re: Adderall and Workout Schedule?
SWIM is a swimmer and ran into this same problem with vyvanse. She is gonna try hitting the pool while on her adderall IRs on tuesday so she will let you know how it goes if swiy would like? SWIM presented the idea to her doc of only taking IRs instead of XRs so she could have more control. Practice is late evening for SWIM so she will take an IR in the morning for class and it'll wear off a couple hours before practice. After practice, she will take an IR to study at night, but just in time for it to wear off before going to sleep. She finds the comedown isn't that bad for her on 20mgs so she's hoping all will be good. SWIY should consider the IRs and adjusting the workout schedule accordingly. SWIY could workout early morning and then take an IR for school as needed, let it wear off a couple hours before his evening workout. If this doesn't work, he could use adderall mainly on weekends for the bulk of his studying and do workouts during the week. Use a tape recorder during his classes if he can't pay attention, and then review them when studying on the weekends. Dunno...let SWIM know how it goes for him. The tips could probably help her out too

Re: Adderall and Workout Schedule?
Swims big concerns with eating enough. So before the first dose swim makes sure to get breakfast. Swim is on XR so at times swim feels a lag in between the first and second dose and takes advantage to eat lunch. Mid afternoon is a good time to work out because of the extra energy and will help work a appetite for dinner.

Re: Adderall and Workout Schedule?
SWIM has been on her addy IR during school and seems to be doing fine during her swim practice in the evening; No dizziness or abnormal heart rates. So SWIY should play with his meds a little and figure out what time works best with his body because everyone is different. It is definitely important to eat as well! SWIM does the same thing as the OP. She eats breakfast and drinks a big bottle of water before she takes her first dose. Her IRs begin lagging early afternoon so she eats her lunch and drinks more water just in time for it to be settled before practice. Btw, it's in your best interest to carry a toothbrush with you if you can because adderall gives an unusual taste in one's mouth and many people complain of it giving them bad breath. Good luck

Re: Adderall and Workout Schedule?
Swiy should remember to stay hydrated. Adderall will make one dehydrated even if he/she does not work out. Working out will multiply this effect. Also remember to take in enough calories. Amphetamines will increase your metabolism and you will be burning more calories than normal. If you are working out you will be burning even more calories. You will not feel like eating but you must force yourself to do so.
