What Would Happen IF SWIM was to...

Filter out MST using the cold water extration process...

Then add the 2ml soloution of H20 and M to an amount of AA and heat?

SWIMS tried the usual homebake method using a 'dry mass' however found it messy and inconvienient.

Anyone had any experience or knowledge of what would happen when the AA (Anhydride) is mixed with a purer concentrate of Morph which is dissolved in water?

Well first off SWIY would have to convert the morphine sulphate into a BASE, and then convert it to Hcl before/after the reaction with the AAA. This can be done by dissolving the MS into distilled water and adding sodium hydroxide (NaOH) or common baking soda (NaHCO3), then heating the solution until the pH is 9.1. SWIY must not use too much heat as it destroys the morphine.

Once morphine base is obtained (and it is given enough time to be COMPLETELY DRY), add AAA on a min 2:1 ratio with the morphine, cover the container and cook everything at 85 degrees C for a couple hours. DO NOT add AAA to the morphine if there is ANY water present as this WILL mess up the reaction!! But after all that is done, convert the heroin base into its Hcl salt using muriatic acid.

SWIM has tried doing this reaction with Morphine Sulphate + AAA and the yields were TERRIBLE. So the conversion of MS into base/Hcl is definitely required.

Last time SWIM tried this SWIM was left with two different substances on the same spoon, one looked like a pile of spiders webs (prob the bi-carb) and the other was skinny poder stuck to the spoon.

This was mixed with AA and heated and the result was a brown powder, however this was very dry and stuck hard to the spoon.

Another diffreent time for some reason the result was dark brown and was a liquid, neither however got SWIm 'Baked' probably due to tolerance however these times put SWIM off the procees as it seemed complex and frustrating which is a possible shame as SWIM has plenty of AA and a good suplly of M...

IF anyone could possibly send SWIM a pictured or filmed version of someone performing this method (obsivoulsy in disguise) SWIM would be eternally gratefull and thankfull...

The problem when doing the reaction in a spoon is that it is almost impossible to put some kind of lid on there and make it airtight. This results in most of the AAA evaporating off, leaving what SWIY describes behind.

SWIM suggests you use a container which is SEALED and can sustain heat etc. Remember, SWIY wants to "cook" the morphine IN the Acetic Acid Anhydride. If it is allowed to evaporate before the end of the reaction, it is no different than heating morphine by itself. In the end, something much inferior to what there was initially put in will be left..

As for the "liquid" SWIY obtained, was the AAA mixed with water? if so, there's the problem.

Ill try find something, not sure what but ill try...

How about if SWIY would be able to guide SWIM through the experience one night.. SWIM aint sure if its gonna be done again as is trying at least at the moment to stay stable on prescription, howver in the future could definitly like some help with the experiment...
