Effects change over time?

So swim was thinking a few minutes ago about the first few times that he ever smoked (besides the first two when he didn't get high). Swim seems to remember seeing everything like a pop-up book. Colors would stick out and when he would go outside everything stuck out and looked so beautiful and 3-d. After a while though, these effects seemed to fade away. Maybe it was the strain, swim would always smoke with the same people and when he bought his first sack from these people he continued to feel the same way, but after his mother flushed that beautiful sack, swim does not recall ever seeing anything in that great perspective again. Technically, it was about a year after that sack was flushed that he finally smoked again and he didn't realize until now that those amazing effects were gone. The actual reason that swim thought about this, was because he heard someone describe seeing everything "pop-up" when smoking pcp laced weed. Could this be the reason that he hasn't had those effects anymore? Does swiy regularly have these visual effects when smoking?

Re: Effects change over time?

It may just be the location where swiy smoked the cannabis, swim remembers the pop-up effect you describe when swim used to smoke outside on sunny days, but as he now mainly smokes in dimly lit areas or at night these visual effects are no longer present. I doubt swiy smoked pcp laced weed for a continous time as it is fairly uncommon to find laced cannabis at all.

Re: Effects change over time?

I agree PCP-laced weed is pretty unlikely.
Mexican Sativa dimebag weed can be pretty trippy I hear.

I remember a friend saying his first experiences were very much like this.
He described it as a "spotlight" or "magnifying glass" effect, which feels fairly close to "pop-up" when I imagine it.

Actually, many people I have talked to about this agree the first couple dozen times or so were particularly trippy and powerful. I speculate with time our brain's neurology and our psychology learn to adapt. I imagine the receptor sites developing compensatory complexities so the organism functions more smoothly while the plant's essence is metabolized into the system.

As someone on the outside looking in on these experiences (I don't partake in them myself) I imagine these "pop-up" experiences are to be enjoyed and appreciated even more so, because they are rare and more or less specific to the initiatory experiences. At the same time it makes no sense to cling to them and try to re-experience them, better to greet them as blessings at the beginning of a beautiful relationship that will continue to grow and evolve.

The friend I described earlier relays that over time the "pop-up" effect, or "spotlight" or "magnifying glass" effects are more noticeable in subtler processes like thinking and aesthetic appreciation.

In time, awareness can learn to be open to the entire field, not just the aspect pushing itself into the foreground.

Re: Effects change over time?

swim noticed effects changing after a while. Before he was so sensitive to the world always talking stupid, and eventually after habitual use, just got stoned, and anti social. As for visuals, the first trees swim got high off of were amazing, even to an expreienced smoker, and not much has compared to both of them. Very visual. But when swim blazes now, it's got his head spinning and shit.

Try new people, new trees, new spot.

Re: Effects change over time?

SWIM actually stopped smoking cannabis for a while because it simply lost its "trippy effect" and slowly became a spinny one. However these have all been at the same place, then one day he went with another friend to the mall. Both he and she had an amazing time which brought out the trippyness again. Also a brighter area seems to create a cleaner high, while darker areas create foggy one.
