Any alternative therapy methods in mind for SWIY? A creative outlet perhaps, along with psychological therapy? And an emergency bottle of haloperidol.. just in case SWIY suffers an uncontrollable episode?

I personally think the discontinuation of anti-psychotic meds is brilliant in those that feel they can handle getting through life without them. But there most definitely needs to be a plan. One cannot simply decide one day to just stop taking meds.

SWIM one day got off an antipsychotic cold turkey, made no difference.
But SWIM had generalized anxiety disorder and was not psychotic, the emds were given off label for anxiety disorder to SWIM and were at the lowest doses, so they didn't do anything to or for SWIM, so SWIM quit them cold turkey with absolutely no withdrawal effects. If you have an anxiety disorder and are on a low dose of an antipsychotic for off label use you can quit them overnight with no ill effects. However, if your condition is more serious and you are on a higher dose, you might need to use a different route. SWIM quit all meds cold turkey one day without thinking twice about it. SWIM's anxiety disorder was not effected at all by the antipsychotics. The antipsychotics did nothing,. SWIM had been on three different ones at different times on and off. Didn't make a difference. What kind of doses is SWIY on?

Swim has quit antipsychotics before with no ill effect, how ever this is swims second attempt to quit them and he's having a rather more difficult time. Very distonic body load, lots of anxiety and poor sleep (was taking olanzapine at night to aid sleep)
