personally i think it's kind of interesting. the most amazing auditory hallucinations i've ever had were on 600mg of diphenhydramine. really nasty trip except for some great memory replayings and auditory hallucinations. things like friends whispering behind me "do your parents know about this??" and then giggling and things like that.

yea, that is what i mean, more specifically what happened was i was looking out of the window in my room and i was seeing the scenery outside as if i was in my old house that i grew up in, this was accompanied by warm memories and feelings. It's definetely not predictable that this would happen to you as well, diphenhydramine is a deliriant and thus cannot be controlled.
being gold means you can view the sources forum. |

I have never personally had a replayed memory but I have always been interested in such things because my past is becoming more and more like a dream, i rememeber bits and pieces. I think a drug souly for this purpose would be nice, just one that lets relive memories. is there any such thing?

Auditory hallucinations are very uncomfortable, however I am curious about Sun Opener (Sinicuichi). Apparently the only visuals you get are a yellow tinge to everything, but you experience prominent auditory hallucinations. I got this info from a source site, so I couldn't just link to it.
Sinicuichi (Sun Opener) Sinicuichi is very new to most people. Native in Highlands from Mexico to Northern Argentina, Sinicuichi is an interesting and ancient divination plant, but one of the least known in the Western world. The natives believe that sinicuichi has sacred or supernatural qualities, since they hold that it helps them recall events which took place many years earlier as if they had happened yesterday; others assert that they are able, with sinicuichi, to remember pre-natal events. From The "Golden Guide" we find: SINICUICHI (Heimia salicifolia) is a poorly understood but fascinating auditory hallucincogen of central Mexico. Its leaves, slightly wilted, are crushed and soaked in water. The resulting juice is put in the sun to ferment into a slightly intoxicating drink that causes giddiness, darkening of the surroundings, shrinkage of the world, and drowsiness or euphoria. Either deafness or auditory hallucinations may result, with voices or sounds distorted and seeming to come from a distance. Partakers claim that unpleasant after- effects are rare, but excessive drinking of the intoxicant can be quite harmful. Sinicuichi is a name given also to other plants that are important both medically and as intoxicants in various parts of Mexico. Other intoxicating sinicuichis are Erythrina, Rhynchosia, and Piscidia, but Heimia salicifolia commands the greatest respect. With the closely related H. myrtifolia, it has interesting uses in folk medicine. Only in Mexico, however, is the hallucinogenic use important. Heimia belongs to the loosestrife family, Lythroceae, and represents an American genus of three hardly distinguishable species that range in the highlands from southern United States to Argentina. Presence of hallucinogenic principles was unknown in this family, but chemists have recently found six alkaloids in Heimia salicifolia. They belong to the quinolizidine group. One, cryogenine or vertine, appears to be the most active, although the hallucinogenic effects following ingestion of the total plant have not yet been duplicated by any of the alkaloids isolated thus far. This provides us with another example of the often appreciable difference between the effects of drugs taken as natural products and the effects of their purified chemical constituents. My audio hallucinations tend to be the sound of a record skipping then
some random woman's voice saying something completely irrelevant like "Is the guy still playing?" I don't think I'll ever figure this out. |

I think auditory hallucinations can be a lot more disturbing than visual ones. With visual ones you can always just close your eyes and watch the dream-like fantasy visuals, whereas auditory ones can't be dealt with like that. Most reports I've read of DIPT reckon the auditory hallucinations get pretty annoying once the novelty's worn off.

Auditory hallucinations can often be down to acute schizophrenia. A friend of mine has heard voices since he was nine years old and finds that when he smokes pot or does E while he is off his medication, that he hears some pretty disturbing voices telling him to attack people, get violent etc. If you find yourself hearing distubing voices, it may well be schizophrenia. Medication is very effective though, so I wouldn't panic in case this scenario applies to you.

About the SOAD rapping I once came in from my hot tub after a nice session and there is a stereo that is always on this one easy listening station with phill collins and share and my parents always listened to it so i knew every song but it sounded like a mix between alien and spanish and i was just like what the fuck. But i meant more out of nowhere sounds not transformatuions of existing sounds, like a friend and i were smoking and both of us heard this loud distinct whistle and it was like 12 am and it was quite weird and scary

Sometimes it's easy to confuse an auditory hallucination with sounds that do exist in normality but are intensified by whatever drug you're on. This has happened to swim while rolling on X, mushrooms, acid and even pot. Once he was walking home in the dark with some headphones on listening to an album he's heard easily fifty times. He kept on flinching because he started hearing these huge machine-like noises. He listened to the same album the next day and noticed the sounds again. It was as though his warped auditory state discovered something for him.
