drugs that will induce euphoria when combined with prozac (fluoxetine)

Hello, having read an article in which a woman claimed coffee and prozac created a certain state of euphoria when combined, I am curious to know if users have discovered euphoria through various combinations with prozac or other ssri's? Are there combinations that can make srri's in any way recreational? I know by themselves they only have therapeutic uses.

Not really, unless you could find some way to cause a massive serotonin release as well.. The amount of serotonin that is retained in the synapse is insufficient to induce definate feelings of euphoria, a slight mood lift at best.
I'm sure a serotonergic that reverses the transporter such as MDMA would do the job though! And risk serotonin syndrome..
You can try as you might but there's really nothing recreational to be gained from SNRI/SSRI antidepressant drugs, unfortunately.

Sorry to say, theres not much one can do with SSRI/SNRI drugs recreationally. MDMA will not work as SSRIs block mdma from releasing serotonin, which would result in a very weak roll and a waste of good mdma. They tend to weaken stimulants as well. The side effects short term suck too, dizziness, nausea, drowsiness or insomnia

Re: drugs that will induce euphoria when combined with prozac

SWIM disagrees with the above, he had normal experiences with MDMA in party settings while on prozac and lexapro.

It is generally advised not to mix amphetamine products or other monoamine neurotransmitter influencers. SWIM had a horrific pre serotonin-syndrome at the end of his day with Syrian Rue and St. John's Wort... dropped 3 20mg prozacs at around 9pm and his brain was on fire for a good 3 hours... it was a trip but it felt horribly wrong and SWIM feels he may have some small everlasting damage because of it.

LSD and such are fine, and you may get a better trip, may not.

Trying to get euphoria out of ssri's is like trying to get laid by the virgin mary.

Re: drugs that will induce euphoria when combined with prozac (fluoxetine)

Not true,
SWIMs been very high of SSRI's plenty of times, comparable to MDMA without stimulation and hallucination.

A high dose of Benzodiazepines if one becomes stimulated by those tranquillisers, say 15-40mg Diazepam, combined with Escitalopram 30-60mg would send SWIM high as a kite.

Talking to everyone and walking around with SWIMs head in the sky feeling totally euphoric. The nausea and sedation from SSRI's at that dose doesn't appear with the use of a Benzo, nausea usually inhibiting its positive effects even at clinical doses in my opinion and the Benzo allows the full effect of the boost in Serotonin to take effect.

SSRI greatly increase Serotonin levels, to that which should make one feel extremely high. But the nausea and somnolence they cause as their most typical side effect may inhibit their therapeutic effects possibly once again changing the brains physiology counteracting the rise in Serotonin synaptic levels by increasing Dopamine in certain regions and inducing nausea.

In combination with Benzo's however this change may not precipitate possibly due to the Benzo stopping over stimulation of Serotonin, thus modulating the presynaptic auto receptors from decreasing Serotonin release and/or causing nausea via a Dopaminergic action.

Either way SWIM has on many occasions a few years ago become very high and ecstatic, it's more than just a Benzo buzz, it’s quite a euphoric feeling resembling some qualities of MDMA as mentioned before without the Dopamine and Norepinephrine stimulation.

As for depression the doses mentioned are not feasible as a sustainable treatment. It may be even better with high doses of SNRI's such as Venlefaxine. The Benzo greatly raises the seizure threshold allowing without nausea and lightheadedness a euphoric buzz.

SWIM DOES NOT ADVOCATE THE USE OF THIS COMBINATION FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES AS SWIM WAS PRESCRIBED THESE MEDICATIONS FOR LEGITIMATE REASONS. DRUGS USED OVER THE PRESCRIBED LIMIT OR IN COMBINATION ARE DANGEROUS AND SHOULD NEVER BE TRIED BY INEXPERIENCED PERSONS

All without the comedown, just a horrible old
Benzo addiction. So be careful!

Be Safe

SWIM is on a high dose of 300mg Venlafaxine. He had no euphoria with coffee, shrooms, benzos and uppers.

The only thing SWIM has is from the venlafaxine is a killed libido and Anejaculation. Its not worth to be used recreational.

It may have felt euphoric by comparison if she was previously depressed. And really, large amounts of caffeine will do that to anyone.

Everyone reacts differently SWIM thinks. SWIM was prescribed Prozac & drank alcohol/snorted cocaine/MDMA on multiple occasions. SWIM found it okay but nothing special. Just the norm for SWIM. SWIMs friend did exactly the same thing and it enhanced his euphoria massively. He couldnt speak highly enough of it. It just depends on you at the end of the day!

Re: drugs that will induce euphoria when combined with prozac (fluoxetine)

Even though SSRIs supposedly weaken the effects of psychedelics, SWIM had a wonderful, super euphoric trip on only 1.75 grams of shrooms while on Prozac + 1mg alprazolam. Normally this would not be enough shrooms to produce such profound effects. SWIMs friend was on an equal amount. Thoroughly underwhelmed by his first shroom experience, he thought SWIM was lying when he described waves of MDMA-like "euphoric deep breathing" and merging with clouds of colorful light at the level of his third eye. As usual with shrooms, SWIM felt a lasting positive effect in his overall mood and outlook on life.

Re: drugs that will induce euphoria when combined with prozac (fluoxetine)

the effect that ssri's have is hard to notice sometimes, after 7 years of of it
swim believes they do work, he has had ridiculous bursts of euphoria that had him writing for hours and dreaming while awake, all swim can say though is that they might not know what the effects these things are gonna have on us physiologically long term.

and ssri's dont work on some people because they dont need them imo....at the end of the day thats why they are so hit or miss.
