Bad season for acid

SWIM feels that LSD is very seasonal. SWIM has had his best trips out doors, in a nice, natural enviroment, with the warm sun kissing his face and seeing life as beautiful as it could possibly be. SWIM is quite sad that where he lives, England, there seems to be only 2-3 months where this can be possible. Does eveyone agree? SWIM trips indoors, has acid get togethers and they are nice too, but SWIM remembers his summer trips to being the best. Although, its widely believed that humans moods are related to the seasons, and that generally poeple are happier in summer, and sadder or grumpier in winter, which is not great for mindset.

Re: Bad season for acid

this seems to be more the case in some more than others. Seasonal affective disorder could be playing a role. i do agree that more sunlight and daytime experience hit me in a positive way.

Re: Bad season for acid

This is why SWIM trips at night, indoors. He understands that nature can be quite miraculous and sunshine/clouds are very pretty, but generally he prefers to trip an invariable climate--his downstairs basement. It's all decked out in day-glo paintings and strobes and black lights. Some people hate to trip at night, but SWIM thinks it's the only way to go!! There's nothing worse than sitting indoors during a trip and looking at a muck-gray sky, waiting to go outside.

SWIM prefers deep sensory deprivation, though, so this may not suit others. He thinks a dark, confusing atmosphere produces the best type of dissociation for introspection and fun! Ecstatic and dumbfounded.

SWIM has tried night trips and they are more enjoyable than winter day trips. SWIM also finds that night trips on LSD and Ketamine produce more visuals.

Re: Bad season for acid

SWIM believes that the relationship between mood and weather is true.
Sunlight encourages the brain to release endorphines.

SWIM also finds that night trips tend to be more visual, SWIM thinks that this is because in the low-light setting it's easier for your eyes to play tricks on you.

In SWIMs opinion, winter trips can be beautiful too.
SWIM enjoyed a very long walk on acid when there was a foot of snow. Bliss.

Re: Bad season for acid

AHHH... lovely topic. Two of SWIM's most memorable trips were highly weather/seasonally affected.
number one was a three hour hike during a heavy wet snow that dropped 10 inches of snow on the town. Nature was amazing, with gently falling palm-sized snow clumps enveloping everything. A legendary re-emerging from wilderness into a blanketed urban setting so silent, still and grand is one perfect memory (1989)
number two was a fall day, that magical day where the majority of the leaves decide that today is the day to let go. The air was filled with yellow leaves, as heavy as previously mentioned snowfall!
So i guess that summer has not been SWIM's favorite time to trip!
BTW- both of these trips were day trips, day beats night by a mile IS'sO, not least for the incomparable sunset/twilight hours!

Re: Bad season for acid

Fall is SWIM's favorite time to trip outside. The colors on the trees, my god. The golds and purples of the leaves become the hues of royal robes and dress. There's nothing like watching those leaves melt into one another, gently swaying in a liquid breeze.

Something about that season always reminds SWIM of tripping. Probably because the first time he ever tripped really hard was during the fall--bumbling and confused on the streets of Richmond, VA. Dumbfounded, blind, enlightened, seeing for the first time---all at once! Although he can't recommend such blatant disregard for setting, at the time it was absolute joy.

But still again, this trip was at night...and believe it or not he and his friends even managed to crank psych rock from his car nearby whilest they were bumbling along the road like fools.

I hope this doesn't violate forum rules but Red Rock wants to know where did SWIY go about in Richmond? Red Rock is very familar with this area and is just curious as to where SWIY was walking around?

Re: Bad season for acid

He was in Oregon Hill, in The Fan. Very close to the civil war memorial built on the destroyed Southern train tracks that looms over the James. SWIM tells me that Oregon Hill is a fantastic place to trip, as it's mostly an arty/student district. There's one house in that area, on Laurel street, where they leave the Christmas lights on all year!

Some good points there. I think this thread is proof that any season is a good season for acid.

Re: Bad season for acid

Our PEF has used LSD in Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, day and night, rain and fog, clear and cloudy. Every trip has had its own unique feel and he wouldn't go back and trade a single one for any other.

Having said that, he prefers outdoor trips during the day if alone or with one or two other, close friends, and indoor trips at night if around more than 3 people. He first tripped in winter, at night, alone, so his preferences do not seem to echo his first experience.
