Is my high tolerance abnormal?

I was just wondering how abnormal swims tolerance is to opiates.

Coming from being sober swim can take about 40mg of oxycodone with little to no effect. It takes almost double that to have an 'experience'.

Is this real abnormal?

Re: Is my high tolerance abnormal?

Swim thinks it could be somewhat normal. Swim's been popping a few hydrocodones, percocets, and a few oxys every 3-4 days. Usually takes the same amount as that. Try drinking grapefrui juice and taking the pills with some tums

Re: Is my high tolerance abnormal?

Swim has only done opiates about 6-7 times, and he started a few months ago. All doses have been spaced out over that 3 months. Swim did 100mg oxycodone the other day and 15mg of valium, barely felt it.. Swim prob needs about 160mg.

Can swim ask have you been a heavy drinker during your life? have you used benzodiazapeines a lot? are you a "big" guy?

thats right! people who drink more are usually more tollerant to opiates. swim finds that when he stops drinking for a few days he has a much better experience with his fav opies. =)

Re: Is my high tolerance abnormal?

before swim had his major injury, he used to be able to take 10mg and be nice and contently high, and he maintaned that dose from his start of use for about 9 months(taking maybe 4-5/day every other weekend) untill his injury, then after his injury, once he got out of the hospital, he was on a 25ug/hr fentanyl patch and 4ct 10mg percocet per day, and this just kept him functional in a wheelchair for the first month, then they dropped him to patch and 4 7.5mg, then the next month(which was when he started being able to be minimally active again) he was dropped to patch and 4ct 5mg's, then up to patch and 3ct 7.5mg's and again down to patch plus 3ct 5mg's, he was able to maintain getting back to life at this dose, but didnt get "high" untill one day after changing his patch, he sucked on it for half on hour and nodded out beautifully, but over the next month, his fentanyl tolerance grew expadentialy...

natural tolerance is deffinatly copletely differant than "aquired" tolerance

Re: Is my high tolerance abnormal?

I've always had such a natural high tolerance to everything, and yes, I used to be a heavy drinker, and yes I am a 'big' guy, 6'4, 230lbs, very broad.

I guess this all answers my questions. It's just funny I hear people talking about the dangers of poppy oxy's and I can take 30-40 mgs and barely notice it?! weird.

Re: Is my high tolerance abnormal?

dont forget , weight plays a huge factor and a person weighing 100kgs will need doudle what a 50kg person needs, thats logical michael, u should know that....this abnormal high tolerance of urs is purely a myth and maybe one day u will understand, but for now ur a newb and its confusing at first....

Re: Is my high tolerance abnormal?

but a fentanyl tolerance will dissapear quicker than it came, it has a half life that is shorter than even a few hours, so if fent is ur DOC, all the best to you as u only need a day off it, with oxy, swim may not touch for a month and still 240mgs iv'd after that month is what he needs, doesnt get it as when he detoxed off meth, an 80 he could get 3 doses out of it, it sux but swim sees nothing he can do except long term NON use, and thats not a realistic option for him.

on the other hand, swims partner has used oxy for about 2 1/2 years and her tolerance has only grown to needing 40mgs, from initially a 'wash' would get her off....so thats not too bad imo

frankz81 added 1 Minutes and 51 Seconds later...

maybe its the alcohol cybergenesis, as swim knows swicyber uses alcohol, as swim checked in to hospital once and apparently was found drunk and ended up there,lol....sorry peeps, cant go into it, but cyber knows what im on about :P
