Cauterizing my nose - able to snort?
SWIM does ket a few times a week tops and enjoys it. Occasionally doing coke too when it's on offer. However sometimes SWIM gets bad nosebleeds for a few days as it takes a while to heal in his nose. This was happening way before last September when SWIM started taking ket for the first time. Because of this SWIM was thinking of getting his nose cauterized but realised today that maybe it could affect how SWIM gets high while snorting things, thinking possibly that by burning (or however they do it) the part of the nose that bleeds perhaps it wouldn't absorb any of the powder. SWIM is a bit worried about this as his nosebleeds are a pain when they happen but he enjoys snorting. Does anyone have any advice?

Re: Cauterizing my nose - able to snort?
Swim's best advice is take half a year (or more if Swiy can) off the drugs. Or, if Swiy has to have them, find other ways of taking them. Your Swimmer clearly realises that he/she snorts a lot, and the nosebleeds are a consequence of this. Over time your nasal tissue will repair itself but Swiy has to help it by not snorting. Give it six months or so. Furthermore, a break from the drugs is a great way to reduce tolerance (especially with ketamine as tolerance builds so fast) and the first time after a long wait is always extra special.

Re: Cauterizing my nose - able to snort?
Thanks, it's something to consider but to be honest swim doesn't think it is due to the drugs, this is the first time swim's had a nosebleed after snorting for the first time and it was due to rubbing his nose really hard while having a sleep in the day. The last time he actually had a nosebleed was literally days before he tried ket for the first time in September. A bit of a rest might be a good idea as recently swim's really noticed his tolerance go up despite the fact he doesn't do it too often. Was just wondering if cauterization would affect the tissue so that insuflation would be much less effective. (Look at all those big words, swim hasn't written like that since high school)

Swim does not know how useful or trustworthy this information is. If Swiy thinks about it technically, the blood vessels get burnt/singed so that they do not break and cause bleeding. So Swiy can assume it will be harder for powder/crystals to be absorbed. |

Re: Cauterizing my nose - able to snort?
Swim was just joking.
Anyway, yesterday SWIM did some ket with a couple of friends and found out two things. One, his friends had had their noses cauterized when younger and they snort stuff. Perhaps it doesn't make insuflation less effective but because they had it when younger they don't notice. Two, swim might take your advice of not snorting for a while for tolerance. Swim doesn't do it often but somehow has built up an unfairly high tolerance already. Do you know how long it takes for an average person's tolerance to go down?

Re: Cauterizing my nose - able to snort?
Well, Swim's research into that last question has concluded that it is different for everyone. Some people say a few weeks off gives them a noticeable difference in how much they need. Others say that even after a year, tolerance remains the same. In Swim's experience, he has needed more ketamine every time, and he uses it approx every 2 - 3 months. Swim thinks this is down to him knowing exactly what to expect when he takes ketamine. His body is used to the effects and thus requires more each time, regardless of how long he takes a break for, to get similar effects. Swim's first time, there was novelty, he had no idea what to expect, so a small bit really knocked him for 6 (was awesome!). Now, he is used to it, and knows what's coming, so he has to use more to push the boundaries.
Swim is having a little session at the end of this month, including the use of ketamine. After this session, Swim is going to cease using it for a while. He wants to forget about it for a year or so, to try and gain back some novelty, and hope to lose some tolerance. |
