Benzodiazepine detection

My associate has gotten in some trouble with the law and is now being placed on drug screening by the courts once a month at random.

Is my associate safe if he consumes a relatively small amount of benzos (clonazepam) shortly after his drug test, and how long have they been known to stay in the system at MAXIMUM?

My associate has heard that benzos have a way of staying in the system longer than documented, but he does not know if this information is reliable. He has heard anywhere from 3-7 days.

He would also like to know if he has been tested once this month, must the court wait until the beginning of next month to administer another test after being informed that he would be tested once a month? Or is this purely up to the decision of the probation department and different for each court system?

Information on any of this stuff would be greatly appreciated.
