You have to use a butane lighter, because a regular flame lighter isn't hot enough to 'activate' the salvia. The water is really only for cooling it off.

I purchased a gram of 5X Salvia from this headshop for 10 bucks. I rolled it all in a joint and smoked it all. I felt nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

You cant smoke it in a joint you need a bong or a pipe and you have to hold the flame on it, maybe even use a torch lighter.

Salvia can be very difficult to get high on. I find for it to work for me I have to take the entire dose in one inhalation, and then hold for a good 30 seconds. You also need a very high heat to vaporize the Salvinorin-A, hence it's best to use a torch lighter as described above (be prepared for your throat to burn a bit as you inhale the hot gases!) Smoking in a joint definitely won't work.

It works great for me with normal lighter. I think that importance of torch lighter is extremely overadvertised.

when I had my first salvia hit I felt almost nothing and than my friend
toke his first hit... nothing and it was the same for each of my
friends, but than we thought we should try another hit so a friend of
my toke a good hit from his pipe and sudenly he started to laugh his
ass of, It was so onnatural that it was a bit scary but it was a
decent trip and than my other friend also toke a hit and he was in an
other dimension so we figured out that it might be that the first time
you take salvia it doens't work as wel as it should do, I also recomend
to smoke it from a pipe
