Health - Bladder Control Issues????

My friend SWIM is a rather frequent user of amphetamines (averaging a day per week of abuse for the last few months).

However, somewhat recently he told me that he has some issues controling his bladder. He'll go to the bathroom, urinate a little, and then urine will leak out involuntarily without any warning after he zips up.

This only happens when he's on speed, and he noticed that it started around the time after he left the ER for non-fatal OD from ecstasy tabs. During the hospital stay.. the trip was so intense that he didn't notice he needed to urinate..and long story short... he ended up with an almost dangerously backed up bladder, which stuck out about 4 inches from his abdomen. About two days after being discharged from the hospital, he noticed pain while urinating, which his home doctor diagnosed as a urinary tract infection.

Could this be the cause of the leaking probelms he experiences? Or might it be because of high blood sugar levels? I've read that diabetics can experience involuntary urination... and since amp spikes blood sugar so intensely, it would make sense to me if that were more likely to be the cause.


Should I advise him to see his doctor about it? Again... it's only when he's on amphetamines, but he's worried it could be a warning sign for something more serious.
