Opinions - Marinol(dronobinol) vs. Weed

Have any of you hard core pot heads ever tried Marinol (dronobinol). Swim has been smoking for 20 years and is also HIV pos, so the only way swim EVER has an appetite is from smoking. Swim was wondering if the pills work as good and what the buzz is like, and how expensive they are. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks for your help

my friend may be able to get a script for it soon. he will soon become a med patient in his state, and suffers chronic pain and many other ailments, but also has stomach problems. he may be on probation soon though, so Im not sure...

but to answer the q he talked to someone at a Cali cannabis clinic and she said that marinol wasn't half as effective as real mj.

That really sucks...I suppose that the doseage of marinol that you took would have some bearing on the effects. I live in KY and we don't have the luxury of medical marijuana. Hopefully that will change soon (knock on wood). It's funny how marijuana is made out to be some kind of "bad" drug. I think that it's benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. NONE of my doctors have said that marijuana is "bad" (apart from the smoking) and they actually encourage it. It's just the legal part that i'm worried about...I too got in trouble for growing and actually went to prison for it, partially because I blatently told the judge that I would not stop doing this or using this drug because of my medical condidtion (HIV). He wasn't pleased. I didn't care and I still don't. It just chaps my ass that people who actually need can't grow it for themselves and can't legally purchase it..Kentucky's #1 cash crop is marijuana, and considering the monies that could me made from legalization and taxation of it will produce millions, possibly billions for revenue for the state, I can't for the life of me figure out why they wont legalize, even if it is just for medical use....That's just my thoughts tho....Thanks for the feedback
